Those things are born with hate In their soul..
They're nasty.
Also, I believe the number of hornets this year has led to the noticeable decrease in pollenating bees. -
F'n hornets! Got stung for the third time this summer... both legs, back, and thumb today. Nest are hidden all over and for whatever reason really aggressive this year.
Ready for Fall. -
68/60 late this afternoon with a light northerly breeze. An absolute beautiful day... Love August.

Is early August normal for those maples to turn?
Things are beginning to change but it's fairly close to normal, maybe a tad early. There were some pretty cool nights in July. My location usually peaks last week of Sept.

83/72 here currently with a severe thunderstorm watch in effect until midnight. Soupiest day of the Summer. Hope it storms like Hell.
Back to the 60's and 70's for highs after today.

That line of storms coming off LS is about to move through my camp.
Be safe… Looks a little nasty! Main line should dive south of here and the rest fall apart before reaching my area.

Feeling a little sticky out with dews in the 60's. Should have no problem topping out in the 80's today. Point has 87. This will be the fourth and final 80 degree temp of July '23.

See you added a chilly reading. That's cold for July.
At first I thought it was an error because none of the other traditional cool spots even fell into the 30's, but apparently it's accurate.
Looks like 80 is not in play today. Topped out at 78, now 77.

A cool, dewy 47 this morning. Temp should top out just over 80 today which will be the first 80 degree day here since July 4th.

Received just under an inch and a half today, even some pea size hail... 4.2" for the month.

Euro was showing possible 70 degree dews in portions of the UP end of next week
Doesn't happen often, and usually short lived.

Going to be great camping weather for me if that continues
I'm crossing my fingers for a warm August. I need the heat to push my garden over the finish line. Terrible grow season this year.

47 for the low here this morning with some patchy fog earlier. This is the 7th night in July with low temps in the 40's.
Decent rain chances this afternoon/evening.

Will be a cool and breezy day here with some afternoon showers again. High only in the low to mid 60's. An early taste of Fall for the north woods the next few days.
-
Smoke has mostly cleared up this way. Nice day on tap with a high forecast of 70 and a decent shot at some thundershowers later in the day.

No real issues this year my way. In town, skeeters generally not much of an issue unless you live along the woods line. Flies are the bigger deal for me, and there has been hardly a fly to be seen. Just bugs in general on the low. That includes bees. My flower garden hasn't seen one yet, and if that continues, it would be worrisome. Bee decline is a serious issue.
Sadly, have only seen one honeybee all Summer. Mostly just bumblebees, and even they are oddly small in size. Of course there's a plethora of wasps and hornets, as usual. Got stung on my hand last week.
Do notice a ton of caterpillars this year.

Great conditions for the mosquito population to explode.
Mosquitos and bugs in general have peaked and on a downward trend.
August is my favorite month of Summer.

Bo's snowpack is saving him so far. How long will that last?
It's not just the snowpack, since June 1st MQT has received 5.34" of rain.
It did get dry for a week or so in early June but otherwise ground is nice and damp and everything green and lush.
