  1. Pingers mixing in again down here. Nothing crazy, but definitely more than just riming.
  2. I was thinking the exact same thing earlier.
  3. Thomas Point is reporting 45 MPH winds out of the N/NE, gusting over 50. Bay Bridge has full restrictions and claiming 50 MPH sustained. And it looks like it's about to be Wilmington's turn to 'slot for a bit.
  4. It's slowly but surely cutting off the Baltimore dryslot too. We're back, boys and girls.
  5. I'm seeing SN-. Some riming, maybe, but no pingers over here (Selby). You can see the sleet line retreating back east in the last couple frames here: http://weather.cod.edu/satrad/nexrad/index.php?type=LWX-N0C-1-24
  6. Jes. It's OK, though. Like Donald Trump when asked about where his money really came from, it's pivoting!
  7. It's trying to figure out how to close off that dry slot. Fresh returns over Delmarva. We're walking a tightrope here in Edgewater. Turn, baby, turn!
  8. Think I just heard some pingers. Hard to tell what's blowing and what's falling right now.
  9. The backfill is starting. Even the northern Richmond 'burbs are threatening to get back in it...
  10. It would explain why the area immediately S/SE of BWI isn't cashing in as well on the recent HRRR updates, though.
  11. Rates have fallen off here pretty dramatically. Still a few fatties falling here and there but the real story right now is the wind. Dry slot in full effect.
  12. Fatter, wetter flakes in the last 10-15 minutes. We're being tickled by the dry slot here south of Annapolis.
  13. Impossible to measure on my property at this point. The drifting is nuts. Rimed snow against the window woke me up ~30 minutes ago. Glad to see the show is in full effect.
  14. My GoPro is in the window and rolling. 60 second interval time-lapse. Should be able to capture the whole thing, start to finish.
  15. Here, too. I first noticed last night, actually. Really noisy for this time of year.
  16. I'm just assuming everything within ~50 miles of the Bay south of Baltimore is going to slot for at least a little while. Might as well set myself up for surprise rather than disappointment, you know?
  17. I just remembered that I also have one of those. Trying to think of a good spot for it. I have some nice LED lighting outside by the driveway now too, so that might allow me to catch some overnight if the window doesn't get plastered.
  18. At some point, I think we have to acknowledge that media target fixation on this weekend's storm may have been partially responsible for the mess around here last night. I know that won't sit well with some people on here, given everybody's professional responsibilities, but when you marginalize a commute-time threat because "the big one" is more interesting, this is one of the consequences. I can't tell you how many times I saw or heard the phrase "a few flakes" to describe what was forecast for yesterday.
  19. Nah, we'll probably end up losing in the first round. To the Seahawks. Again.
  20. We're all trying to will the calendar forward four months and the thermometer down 20°.
  21. It just exploded south of Rt. 50 in Maryland around 9:00-9:30. That line moving over the Potomac bloomed out and it has been pouring since about 10:00 over here. I'm actually concerned by those heavier returns south of the District right now. If that holds together through our area, I may lose sight of the grass.
