Bring on spring. Sick of this winter already. What's our total for the year? Gotta be under 2", right? You know it's bad when Tennessee is beating you faily handedly in snow totals and the ski resorts are having to shut down.
Cheer up -- the GFS shows a big snowstorm at 360 hours. I'm sure that will happen...

Maybe it's just masochism, but I'm still hoping for a last minute bump NW...
-
For now at least, the NAM seems to be on its own with the NW track. Everyone else jackpots WV
-
Once again, gfs is a complete whiff...

Canadian looking a bit more suppressed this run...

On a separate note:
Flurries in Bexley!

I'm sure we'll continue to see lots of model wobbles and wiggles over the next few days. At least it's something to track...

Looking a bit suppressed now on the euro too

...and now it's back! (tho verbatim it's a close call for central OH)

Bet it will be back on the 0z.
But will it still be there next week?

Latest gfs lost the 1/7 storm, but today's euro now gives us a few inches on the 6th. I'd rather have the euro in my corner anyway...

Gfs and euro both give central OH a light frosting on Tuesday night. Maybe an inch or so. Not much, but I'll take it...

Since 1884, Columbus has recorded 31 winters with at least 1 daily 6" snow event. That's about 1 every 4.4 years, so it's not particularly unusual to go 5 years without one. There hasn't been an official once in Columbus since the 2014-15 season, which is now 6 years. The longest the city has ever gone without recording a 6" daily snowfall was 1918-19 to 1946-47, 28 straight years.
However, if you expand it out to a 2-day event, which most storms actually are, the data changes somewhat to a much greater frequency. At that standard, you surpass 110 for a frequency about 1 every 2 years. However, there still hasn't been once since 2014-2015 and the longest period without one is 1921-22 to 1946-47, 25 years.
Thanks for the info and historical perspective! At least it's not 1923...

I just want to see one solid, healthy, decent-sized snowmaker that we can all cash in on. This week marks 5 years I've lived in central OH, and I have yet to see a single 6+ incher imby.

Also, that NAM run barely gives anyone in Ohio anything, despite the look.
Yeah, I'm not sure that even the inevitable NW shift will help us too much there

As for Wed Night/Thursday, it's garbage on models currently too. Need another NW shift.
I'm sure we won't get the NW shift when we actually need it

But I'm sure Thursday will work out. What could possibly go wrong...?

You know what's great about a giant sleet storm?
Absolutely nothing...

Major pingage here on the east side of columbus...
This blows.

Because we can’t help ourselves! LOL
At least it's nice to know I'm not the only crazy snow-freak in the world (despite what my wife thinks...)

Even the euro now brings in the sleet for a couple hours this evening. Why do I do this to myself?

I see 3 flakes in Columbus. I think I'll go outside and build a very very very tiny snowman...
