Does anybody know when Columbus saw its last 6+ inch snowstorm? I've been here 6 years and I don't think we've gotten more than 4 or 5 inches in any storm during that time. 

First flakes flying here... 

And maybe some more on Tuesday...

Just eyeballing it, it looks like about 3 in bexley. A little disappointing, but I guess disappointment is just part of the climo here in Central OH...

Liking the look of the last few runs of the hrrrrrr... Nice big comma head shape (would be even better if it shifted a few more clicks to the left). Dry slot from hell approaching Pittsburgh... 

Radar to the south looks pretty healthy. I guess it comes down, in part, to how long the primary holds on... 

Someone's gonna get over 8 inches. Juicy system.

Yeah it's a possibility and it's what we're rooting for to happen. Need main wave to be just a tad slower and west as the second energy has been trending faster. Phasing looked best yet on this euro run, but it didn't translate down to the surface much like the NAM.

Thanks for the explanation. It actually looks (to my novice eye) like the 18z NAM shows a bit more interaction, allowing the snow to stick around a bit longer into Monday... 

Question: is there a chance that the energy coming in behind the storm will come in faster and pull the storm further NW?

NAM seems to be falling in line with the rest of the gang -- looks like we're getting fringed again...

Aside from a couple very minor wobbles, 12z looks very similar to 6z.

Gfs goes SE, Euro goes NW... Gonna be a long few days... 

Well, the euro did continue to bump a bit NW from its 12z position. I've noticed that euro solutions tend to evolve incrementally over time (in contrast to the gfs's often wild swings from run to run), so it may not be finished trending...
