Os now 27 above .500. This is starting to shape up to be a special season. And they’re still doing all of this earlier than expected. Crazy to think they still have Holliday, Kjerstad, Norby, Mayo, etc down on the farm to call up. They will need to address pitching, but that may need to wait until next trade deadline or the ‘24 offseason if the intention is to grab a true ace. Not too many #1s coming up for free agency this off-season.
Here's hoping GrayRod becomes that ace. Oh and there is that John Means guy too.

Welcome to Baltimore Jack Flaherty.
Solid performance yesterday. Also, Ryan Mountcastle is going to have his passport revoked to go to Canada at this point.

With all the travel yesterday, I didn't really have a chance keep on top of the trade deadline moves. Nice pick up for the Os, but that's it?
I kind of agree with this take.
The Baltimore Orioles and Cincinnati Reds are cowards
It’s all right there for two division leaders far too worried about tomorrow

Asking prices were insane. The White Sox wanted Holliday for Dylan Cease. The O's apparently made a deal acceptable deal with the Mets, but Verlander wanted to go back to Houston.

I don't know the temp out there. It's just brutal hot.

Flash flood warning for Dundalk. I'm just north of Eastpoint Mall and it's dark out, but no rain at all. Must just be on the outside edge of the rain
-
Been having a good constant rumble of thunder here for the past 20-30 minutes, but no rain.

Nice Orioles win in 10 tonight, 4-3
First time since August 2016 that the O's are in sole possession of first.

Os made a minor trade and got a bullpen arm. Dude was terrible as a starter but has pitched pretty well lately as a reliever. We'll see.

Now go get a legit starter.
Me: I want to trade for a Japanese pitcher!
Mom: We have a Japanese pitcher at home.

That looked like the 2021 Orioles last night, eesh

Os are now only 3 games out with the Rays losing 6 straight.
One back in the loss column at that.

Yup. Win this next series and that’s a lot of positive momentum.
We've got 3 games before the All Star Break and the O's have won 51 games.
They won 51 games total 2 years ago.

Baltimore County just came by and watered the trees that were planted here earlier in April. Really? They needed the extra water now?

Think there has been 3 or 4 torrential downpours in the past hour. Lasts maybe 3-5 minutes but a ton of rain falls and then just stops

It's soupy out there.

Got about an inch of rain last night in Dundalk. Definitely a good soaker, ground and grass is still plenty wet this morning.

My expectations may be tempered by logical discussion happening here...or perhaps I'm more jaded from the experience of forecasted wx vs. what-actually-transpires wx in this region. But I'm finding the amount of hype and hyperbole that a few of the local radio/TV station mets are repeatedly pushing this A.M. regarding this afternoon's severe potential almost insufferable. I mean, they're making it sound worse than the derecho from the early 2010s...get all of your errands done before noon, rush hour will be a nightmare, tornado chances are strong, etc. Ugh.
77/70 with full sun and clear skies now at Fort Belvoir.
It's summer. We get storms, sometimes heavy. People forget that. Hell I can do the weather in summer here: "Hazy, hot and humid with a chance of afternoon or evening thunderstorms, some may be severe."
Sorry to be so snarky but I agree with you, the hyperbole is over the top.

Probably an indication of how deep their farm system is now. He kind of got "lost" in the overabundance of talent lol.
Considering the O's now have their 3rd #1 prospect in 2 years with Holliday now too, it's almost too much talent lol

Been a steady rain here for about 20-30 minutes

Been a decent rainfall here for the past 10-15 minutes. Few rumbles of thunder too

Oh, THERE is the humidity.

Air's much better here today that it's been the rest of this week

I was worried about the O's "playing down" to the Mets. They got a sweep. Only need 1 of those games against Tampa to win the season series and tie breaker (in essence another game in the standings)
