This Presidents Day weekend storm did not quite live up to billing, but did produce 2.2 inches at BWI, 0.1 at DCA, and 1.1 at IAD.  That enabled RickinBaltimore to move into second place behind Kmlwx.  A very competitive leaderboard, but will the Mid-Atlantic receive any more snow this season?:snowman:

See we just need a southern snowfall now...

anyone know what the RRFS A is?

    ref1km_ptype.us_ma.png

    From NOAA:
The Rapid Refresh Forecast System (RRFS) is the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) next generation convection-allowing, rapidly-updated ensemble prediction system, currently scheduled for operational implementation in 2024. The operational configuration will feature a 3 km grid covering North America and include deterministic forecasts every hour out to 18 hours, with deterministic and ensemble forecasts to 60 hours four times per day at 00, 06, 12, and 18 UTC.The RRFS will provide guidance to support forecast interests including, but not limited to, aviation, severe convective weather, renewable energy, heavy precipitation, and winter weather on timescales where rapidly-updated guidance is particularly useful.

Yeah who knows. I mean, it would still be an on going investigation, so it's not like they'd be obligated to disclose anything, right?

The incident happened the week prior to the game. I wonder if the team was even aware? Also, holy crap could you imagine if the Ravens were playing Sunday?

    Love the move.

Back in 14 when they traded Eduardo Rodriguez for Andrew Miller I loved that move also. They had a great team in 14 and went for it all.  They had a legit shot that year but ran into a red hot Royals team in the ALCS.

How Long had it been since you could say the Os were 1 player away from having a legit chance to win it all.

And the best thing about the trade is they didn't have to give up any of there top 5 prospects. Their Farm is still loaded.

Baseball America unanimously named the O's system the best in baseball for the 3rd straight year. AFTER the trade.

Trading for guys in their walk year like Burnes and going after a WS title is what big boy franchises do. And if he walks after this year, which he probably will given Boras as his agent, given the light prospect haul sent for him, it is 100% the right thing to do. The first actual "we are going for it" move. Love it.

O's make a QO to him they get that pick back in essence next season too.

Cal is a minority owner. It may have taken 20+ years, but Free the Birds finally came through.

As a neutral observer (bengals fan) who has recent experience watching his beloved team playing the Chiefs in big games (Burrow is 3-1 against Mahomes and 1-1 in the AFC championship) I cannot underscore enough that point.  I thought the offensive gameplan from Monken/Harbaugh was perplexing (at best). Clearly KC had a plan to contain Lamar in the pocket - their rush lane discipline was excellent and the strength of KC's D is their defensive backfield (and Chris Jones at d-tackle - but he's more effective rushing the QB). So...run the ball? With the best rushing offense in the NFL? I mean...that, right? Instead, the run almost entirely abandoned. I was absolutely confused. Still am.

It "wasn't that type of game" per Harbaugh. I swear I wonder sometimes if the Ravens would be better off moving on from him.

This is not Harbaugh's fault...not today. A team that has been so disciplined all year long and just dominated has a bad game at a bad time...you tell me: What is a HC supposed to do here? Everything has been working this year; he's made the right coaching hires (paging Dr. Rush for our 60 sacks), Monk gave Lamar the keys and unlocked things...We go something like 4-1 traveling multiple time zones...and we come into the divisional round--our biggest hurdle we hadn't yet cleared--ready to play (offense sluggish but got there).

So he doesn't get credit for all that...because we couldn't get past the AFC championship this time? Now his in-game decisions? That criticism I agree with to a degree. (But that was not in play today. Sometimes good teams lose) But him as a coach overall? We don't know how good we have it. I really hope we win a SB in the next year or two to prove folks wrong about wanting to fire him. If we get another trophy there won't be much else to say, imo

I have a huge issue with the offensive playcalling today. The Chiefs' run D is suspect so the Ravens run the ball 6 times total with their RBs. That...I have questions about.

Anyway, thoughts on the AFC game? You folks get to watch the Ravens each week,we don't have that luxury in PA. How do they match-up? Is KC really an underdog here? I like The Ravens today but want to hear why they are going to beat KC. Is their D pretty good? Secondary vs linebackers etc.

The Ravens have the best complete team in football this season for quite possibly the first time ever. Defensively they are easily the best in football, lowest points allowed, most sacks, best turnover differential.

On offense the team is no longer one dimensional. Lamar has options he can throw the ball to with OBJ, Flowers, Bateman, Likely and Andrews coming back today. Plus Lamar isn't running as much this season. He's letting plays open up down field before taking off and is making quick passes to his receivers.

KC is playoff tested and I will NEVER count Mahomes out in a game, he's just that good. But the Ravens overall are the better team.
