Snow has begun in most of SWCT. Sticking well in northern Jersey and nyc metro
Excellent. Should be any time here, now. Just fired up my special mounted snow spotlight, blazing into the field.

How much tree and line damage do you envision?
500 outages for CT. But almost all due to cars sliding into poles.

Gonna be a nice little event for most of us in here. Maybe some 300 year-old trees will get covered in ice and come crashing down onto powerlines and buildings so those people are happy, too.

That was an eventful landing at Logan.
A go-around, or did they make it on the first attempt?

NW Mass and S Vermont about to get completely obliterated.

First light flakes and heavy winds. Popped out of nowhere.

I didn't realize there was something called a "Squall Warning." According to the NY office.

Probably not. Shepards often keep donkeys with their sheep to protect them. They will stomp coyotes.
I should have mentioned these are dwarf donkeys, and very slow. They come up to about my waist. So I don't know.

Chickens in coops airborne and lifted to Lewiston?
Damage comes in many flavors. My neighbor's three donkeys escaped last night when a branch crashed into the pen and wrecked the fence. A pack of coyotes is gonna have a feast tonight.

Big time…it’s like a disease with these folks.
Hopefully not contagious! For some, I guess it pushes a narrative. For others, it's negative attention.

You must be high up off 132. What a weenie spot.
I moved from Woodbury to a horse farm just over the border in Bethlehem on Hard Hill Rd 3 years ago. I can drive a mile down the hill and the winds will be 10mph while theyre gusting to 30 here. Totally open property in all directions for a half mile, on a hill. Backside winds always overperform up here.

Woodbury/Bethlehem line. Winds pretty crazy here.

WSW 20-24mph sustained here with gusts to 38 now. High of 56F at 12pm, down to 41.

I'm not editorializing on the decision, but I've seen a bunch of unhappy folks ripping the NFL when they're just doing what they're told in this instance. Not that the NFL needs me to defend em.
It all comes down to the lost beer, hotdog, and merch sales. That's close to 2.5 million at a full stadium. The NFL calls Hochul and says, "Get out there and cancel the game. Blame it on whatever you need to, but keep us out of it."

Biggest damage in town is a branch crashed into a donkey pen last night, and three donkeys escaped. The town is out if force trying to locate them before the coyotes do.

No I’m actually in a great mood today…3 day weekend, lol.
But it’s getting toward mid-January now…preseason is long over. People can leave this thread if they are not interested in this event any longer. Go to banter for the “winter sucks” talk.
Maybe a permanent thread entitled "Winter Sucks and I Need Negative Attention" pinned at the top would help alleviate a lot of these posts.

based on this current storm, I will take the WAY under on winds
IMBY with these type storms, it's always under on the storm winds, over on the backside NW winds.
