6.14" for the day. Amazing how pathetic that feels when you're up against 16" a few towns over. The same with snow in winter.

They were all in love with dyin'
They were drinking from a fountain
That was pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain.-

Jesus. Was that a river? If that was a creek that’s incredible.
That area on route 67 has a small brook, maybe about 15 feet wide. I believe that was mainly "just" runoff from the surrounding hills.

Flooded by Watertown and Waterbury…guess we know how the towns got their names…
These are all the same areas that got destroyed in 1955. Army Corp of Engineers then designed and built several dams around here to deal with something similar. But a lot of those feeder rivers today were just roaring like nothing seen before. I can't imagine how the Housatonic is handling this.
The other thing to consider is all the sewage plants along the Naugatuck river that were flooded; the untreated effluent was just washed into the river. -

Jesus the worst of that next batch is crawling right for ground zero today
Another 2-3 inches right on the bullseye.

Bunch of drunks in an Oxford bar flooded with water, filming houses and playgrounds floating by. Pretty funny.

Yes sir. And who needs Ernesto…we got our own massive rain event happening out of pretty much nowhere today.
Yup. Probably wouldn't get this much water with Ernie anyway. Our cars and chicken coops may have washed away, but we still have our homes.

That is unbelievable. Never saw anything like that there in 40 years. The Pomperaug river must have burst its banks.

Ya, it seems to be back building as you mentioned too.
Yup. Only hope is the backbuilding down north of Greenwich. Trying to top 6 here. 5.19.

The funny thing is we have been "spared" here so far, just over 1.5". Looks like a lot of 2-4 inch totals to my south and west
Yeah, even worse to the west. They're pulling 3.5"/hour stuff. I just hit 1.4. No end in sight.

Just coming into Litchfield County. Rare to see rain this heavy. Literally watching the digital gauge go up a hundreth of an inch every 10 seconds.
