  1. On the 12z GFS surface temps for our area dip to 33-34 degrees under heavy rates. The storm is generating its own cold air by dragging down colder air aloft. It is the issue, as we really don’t have a true cold air source, so high bust potential if you take snow maps literal. It all comes down to where banding sets up or heavy rates occur.
  2. GFS good hit for areas north of the peninsula!
  3. Snow maps were better for your area on latest 0z. snow depth last four runs of Nam. First one was the 6z nuke. Thats the image I had where I circled the LP area.
  4. It’s the last four runs of the NAM showing the max zones shifting north each run. this is where we need to LP to be.
  5. The reality is that models will start to reduce totals and consolidate more, probably north of us. For a fun event we need to see a 0z or 6z Nam nuke. Surface temperatures are marginal at best and soil temps are bad. Need that 2+ inch an hour rates to dump a nice wet concrete base, then build on top that when rates decrease. Expectations are white rain for now.
  6. I think so. It’s so windy it’s hard to tell. It’s been a surprise to see the storm unfold like this. We are so use to busting. But we had everything we needed. The only hold back was the dry air. Once that was pushed out it was game on. If this keeps up a few more hours. 4-5 inches could be the total here.
  7. Under decent returns now but rates are not as good as earlier.
  8. Wow. Impressive. Snow on snow event would be a dream. 1993 storm had schools closed for 2 weeks here. Kids had to in on Saturdays for the rest of the year to make up the missed days.
  9. It is creeping north. I’ll take another inch or two!
  10. @Stormpcanother band may be setting up for you!
  11. Yeah! Thankful I got to experience the December 25th 2010 storm. Low formed in the gulf and went right up the coast. That’s how we get 12+ inches around here. I always keep in mind that norfolks biggest recorded storm was 18.5 inches in 1892. Reality check for when we see these crazy clown maps.
  12. Things appear to be winding down. Very cold and windy. Going to be blowing snow all night. Probably will end up with 3 inches here.
  13. Was an epic tracking week. Honestly this storm could have been a monster. It’s rare to get snow at these temps and ratios.
  14. My guess for top total zone. Obviously where the best band is. Ratios are quite good as well. we may be closing in on an inch now at the beach.
  15. Jon Cash was one of the biggest snow weenie Mets this area has ever had. He would always bust high on his snow totals (not saying you are). Became famous with wearing different snowflakes when he thought we were in for a big snow storm.
