  1. According to CDC, they consider full in person to be high risk. My wife is doing full in person other than the kids whose parents kept them home
  2. A few points...and some are getting off the rails political... In Massachusetts at least there has been a centralized curriculum since the mid 1990s. That’s what we all teach from. We are given autonomy to teach it more or less in the way we see fit. Schools are being closed not by unions. That is a right wing taking point that has been disproven numerous times. The CDC itself has walked back the push to keep schools open in communities where spread is large The district I work in now has an overall 14 day positive average of 7.75%. I will have my kids in front of me today. Weekly student and staff positive cases are more than doubling each week. Every day we have more and more parents who had signed up for their kids to be in school pulling them back into remote. The community decides this. Fun times
  3. Yeah. Since my work has “customers” in it again I am wearing a mask for a good chunk of the day. I am going with the paper ones while teaching. The pre order system is great at WDW.
  4. That’s all I could think of How is the trip so far?
  5. Just for comparison, Wyoming statewide was testing at 90% positive yesterday. How the hell does that happen?
  6. I saw him with Harv on TV last night. Maybe January rocks?
  7. Wachusett might open for a bit very soon. My son is on call if they decide to open. Not bad considering it was in the 70s last week
  8. We are still on the fence about going to my brother in law’s for Thanksgiving as we usually do. It would not be a large gathering anyway but we would prob have to bring my mother in law who is 89 and has some health issues. Between my wife, daughter and I we are each in three different schools. My nephews are in two other schools. The odds would not be great. I am for punting it this year. and I really don’t care what neighbors do. They can have a hootenanny for all I care
  9. The gym I had belonged to previously has put up all sorts of plastic/plexi barriers between pieces of equipment, spread stuff out, etc. I am personally preferring the home workouts I started in March but I'm glad to see the gyms have been safe so far
  10. Buuuutttt.... my wife's cardio pulmonologist (a bigwig at UMass Medical) recommended that she avoid the gym if she could She has several underlying conditions, but worked out a ton...
  11. From some numbers I have seen, (not sure how accurate they are), in Massachusetts at least, gyms have not contributed very many cases. Between 7/6 and 11/14, a consortium of Massachusetts Independent Fitness Operators had reported 1,384,349 gym "check ins" and only 45 reported cases 0.00325% That's below community rates by a ton
  12. CDC shuffling the deck chairs wrt schools https://www.masslive.com/coronavirus/2020/11/cdc-removes-guidance-pushing-for-school-reopenings-amid-covid-pandemic-saying-new-scientific-information-has-emerged.html https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/community/schools-childcare/schools.html
  13. They are making snow at Wachusett right now (10:30AM) Kinda surprised in a way. Today is cold, but a warmup is coming
  14. MCO is awful to get out of... at least it was in 2019. A lot of people get that pre-screen thing. I forget what it is called
  15. On the Mayo website, they mention that Covid may cause GBS...yikes...
  16. Yeah... I mis-typed the date. I haven't heard much about it since it was first announced over the summer. We had ours done in mid October based on our PCP recommendation... he suggested we get it mid to late October.
  17. In Mass, flu vaccination now required for school by Dec 3. That's a new one... Edit: Dec 31... fat fingers
  18. I saw a picture of the Magical Express line the other day. Super long... but prob due to social distancing. Not sure if you use that service
  19. Give me JetBlue any day over SW I used to love them... The whole seating groups etc bugs the crap out of me.
  20. A tricky problem for many Americans. Don't get the vaccine but be willing to continue with masks, etc.? Get the vaccine and have a document saying you are good and can attend concerts, not wear masks, etc? How would that work? I am guessing my job will require vaccination... we had to for the H1N1 (I think??)
  21. Might be a good time to invest in companies that manufacture deep freezers and dry ice equipment... at least in the short term
  22. Yeah. Looks like 95% efficacy and no short term negative effects. I wonder how long immunity will last. I’m guessing a yearly booster
