  1. Looks like a solid 4-8 type of deal on your side of the county right now. Not close to blockbuster territory for western zones as depicted, but a good enough hit that will put you above normal for snowfall for the season.
  2. Closed here as well. All we have is wet ground. Not even a trace. Back country out by the airport probably has something on the ground, but south of 95/Post Rd just wet.
  3. -RASN mix here on the sound, meanwhile five miles up the road at HPN 1/2 mi mod snow.
  4. Winter weather advisory in effect! Where's the snow?
  5. Snow has started here. Let's see how long this lasts before turning to rain.
  6. There's still 6 weeks and 3 days left. What if another Feb 2015 is on its way?
  7. Sun's out here. Went from the last of the light snow to sun in about an hour.
  8. Using the CT River as the dividing line is dumb anyway because then basically 80% of New England is considered "east." CON-WST roughly if we're going by land mass.
  9. We had under 10 inches in 06-07 in SE CT, and a couple others after that around 11-12-13 inches, but under an inch will be pretty tough to do even in the snow hole of SNE.
  10. Damn 60s to near 70 NYC metro in the middle of the night in mid-December - impressive warmth.
  11. Light snow and snow pellets here. First flakes of the season.
  12. it's worse in Florida where this may have the largest impact. Rates will increase up to 18% per year until they reach market rates in a state where some parts are too risky for private insurance, and we're talking many miles inland too, so you can imagine how many thousands, maybe millions, of people this will hurt.
  13. GYX got a new office? Nice to see they aren't abandoning WFOs with all of the new offices being built in recent years (e.g. CTP, BOX).
  14. People in Maine can't grow their own tomatoes? That's a weird one. I can have all the tomatoes I want in my garden.
  15. They should use the PRISM model to generate the maps since it has resolution to 800m and a systematic method to determine normals in places with sparse observations or lack of history.
  16. I like how the map has a little dot of <25 right over GON. The map knows.
  17. Frost advisory and freeze warnings up for interior southern CT tonight.
  18. If we're setting records for warmth, doesn't that mean it's something that's never happened before?
  19. "New snow accumulation 108 to 114 inches." If they had high speed internet access I'd move there.
  20. How did Mass. get its power back on so fast? When Conn. has lost that many customers it took 1-2 weeks to get everyone back on.
  21. Winds ripping pretty good here on the sound. Probably sustained 30s gusting to 50 now. Wasn't expecting this kind of wind from this storm.
  22. Mass. and RI should get an influx of Connecticut power crews to help as the state is basically fully restored.
