  1. Are there any reliable models that still show any snow in ATL? If not I will drive south to Macon or may need to go further south to Tifton or Albany?
  2. do you have a map for this? does it make as far north as ATL?
  3. You or anyone have frame before so we can see Georgia? Thanks
  4. Are you thinking as of now, somewhere between SAV and ATL may be the best snow chance for this storm? I would think Macon looks to be in a good spot as of now. I remember researching a few storms in the 60's or 70's where Macon got like a foot of snow or close to it, and ATL did not get much.
  5. Thanks, I am in Dunwoody (20 miles northeast of the city). Hoping we stay snow for at least 2-3 hours so we can get an inch or two of snow before the sleet sets in. We have so many trees around here the frza would be terrible in this area.
  6. So is Atlanta only seeing snow if the NAM is wrong, or regardless they should get a few hours of snow before the switchover to ip/frza?
  7. how far north of the city do you think it would stay primarily snow for at least half the event before switching over to ip/fzra?
  8. 3+ inches 30-40 miles north of ATL is very possible. Almost every model is showing that as of right now. I would say it is at least a 50% or more chance.
  9. what happened to "lookout" in this forum? he was the best ever in these kind of storms? sorry for posting here but don't know where else to post
  10. Is it possible we are seeing models trend better/colder today as they are starting the process of picking up on fresh snow cover to the north?
  11. When you say ATL in big trouble if showing wedge beyond 72 hours, that would point towards potential major ice?
  12. regarding this Thursday event, obviously lower elevation in georgia seem to be only a cold rain now, but curious if a short drive up ga 400 to suches (elevation 3000-3500) would give me a shot at seeing a nice snow? i dont have access to reading the thermal profiles, so not sure if elevation would help out in north ga or they would just see a cold rain as well?
  13. anyone have access to posting the HRRR for tomorrow morning?
  14. Think I'm going to head north from atlanta towads Dahlonega/Helen area and see some decent snow in the morning....
  15. Where art thou Lookout to chime in on this upcoming storm?! He’s my favorite.
  16. NAM is showing 1-2 inches of snow for Atlanta overnight Sunday night. Why is no one talking about it?
  17. Bout to head out in a few, when does northside of ATL (Marietta to Roswell) flip to snow?
  18. thanks for the input goose, much appreciated. i agree if we can get dewpoints in low to mid 20's then we may be in for a surprise. with you as well, i don't think anything major on the roadways at this point but 2 inches on grass, roofs, car tops is def possible, imo.
  19. When does ATL decide on WINTER STORM WATCH or WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY? Figured it would be out by now. I think criteria for ATL to be in a watch is the expectation for 2 inches of snow. Saving grace tomorrow for ATL roads will be 34-35 degree temps versus upper 20's we had during SNOWJAM.
