-2f …calm before the storm

Bitterly cold, sitting at -15f right now.  

This is the last 18”+ storm to hit Ottawa. 22 inches fell.  Would be a nice dejavu

12" is typically the max for most areas in the upland South, though some once-in-a-generation storms (such as the Blizzard of '93) produced 1-2 feet for many.

22 inches in 24 hrs Feb 2016.  Epic storm. 

-13f and beautiful blue skies here in Ottawa. The Rideau canal is open for skating, all 4.85 miles of it.  Have a great day everyone. 

Sitting at -1f at the moment up here, looking forward to a good dumping on Monday.

They used sand on the roads where I lived in Canada, in Michigan, and up in Redfield. I MUCH prefer it to road salt, as it provides more traction and way less slippery and your car doesn't slide all over the place when you're driving and trying to turn. The biggest negative of it is definitely how it cakes to your car...especially if it's mixed with brine/salt...that stuff EATS away at your car. Hence, the holes in so many cars up there.

Sad new from Lytton, BC.  Just days after setting the Canadian all time high temperature record, 90% of the village has burned down.

Heavy snow all morning here in Ottawa with a deep snowpack. 

10'' up here in Ottawa and Cold!  -5f at the moment.

Closing in on a foot today, winter wonderland out!

We ended up with 10.5” here in Ottawa.  The temperature never made it above -2f during the event.  Coldest snowstorm I’ve ever experienced!
