  1. I agree, I think this hits hard from Wlksboro East, Western NC gets typical upslope and precip from the initial piece sliding down from Minnesota.
  2. I'm still thinking we see a westward shift, this thing comes up the coast right beside Hatteras.
  3. I still think this trend West with the precipitation field continues. It feels like models usually bias East then slowly bring them back.
  4. Remember guys, the last storm was all about the south until it wasn't. Just an observation, but I see these things move west and north more than I do East.
  5. Jumping over here for a bit, pulling for the western trend. Might get ran out of town in the South Eastern thread!!
  6. if it transfers, more times than not the western half gets skipped over.
  7. I had to go look that one up, wasn't a hammer down this way. Looks like you guys got hit hard! I have seen some warnings pop up along the parkway near Wintergreen but nothing large scale down here since 1993.
  8. I was 8 when that storm hit, I remember drifts cover the entire side of our 1 level house
  9. It may be just the Blacksburg area, but to the best of my knowledge that was the last time most of Virginia saw a blizzard warning as well.
  10. Friend/ Teammate from college back in WV is now the head baseball coach there. Go Dragons!
  11. I was just thinking the same thing. I haven't been involved this much since the accuweather forums.
  12. It seems more times than not these storms move more NW. Think of how many times we've seen storms show tons of snow then gradually get warmer as the low slides towards the mountains. Not scientific just hoping that trend continues.
  13. Models are showing parts of VA and NW NC well below zero tomorrow morning.
  14. Certain areas in the south have the potential to break several records over the next week. Rivers freezing that haven't froze in years, infrastructure damage? Frozen waterfall pics, Post them here.
  15. Still 14f IMBY These river valleys take forever to warm up, there will probably be several deep valleys in Virginia that don't make it out of the teens when this final push comes through
  16. still sleet on the river. 12.6F Models are showing a transition to ZR for me very soon.
  17. Just dropped below 12F here. Noticed temps on the mountains starting to rise.
