  1. Just weird bc the bands set up south to north generally so I wouldn’t expect places just to my south to have so much more. 10-15 min drive south to Plainview and 6-8 inch difference is surprising. I would expect it more east to west drop off on the island. .
  2. Located in Syosset / OB Cove area. We usually do very well with snow. Prob got 16-17” based on reports and eyeballing but I see Plainview reports of 23”. .
  3. Have gotten an inch maybe since 8 this morning. Just started snowing again for first time in hour or two. Weird storm. Places 4-5 miles to my south in Nassau got 6-8 inches more .
  4. I’m hoping. I’m in the area of northern Nassau with nothing right now. Basically just flurries. .
  5. I wish the band would move east but I think it’s just going to dissipate before ending. .
  6. One of the few spots somewhat disappointed from this storm on a relative basis. Northeast Nassau - in between the bands. Probably finish with maybe 18” is my guess. .
  7. Looks better than it is where I am just light snow in Syosset .
  8. I’m close to N/S border near cold spring harbor and radar is more impressive than what’s falling for some reason. Would think it would be much harder right now .
  9. 15” or so here in syosset area. Little on lower end of expectations .
  10. Confirmed. Light rates here NS Nassau. Probably 12-14”. Will end up with less than other areas. .
  11. Band weakening over Nassau in radar .
  12. 4-4.5” here in Syosset area. Shoveled the walk way to have a little less to do tomorrow. Higher end amounts seem to be likely out here .
  13. What’s your location in Suffolk? .
  14. Can’t be new. It said OtG. I’m on NS of Nassau. Have about 3 inches new. .
  15. Steady snow now in NE Nassau. Not sticking .
  16. For sensible weather impacts to the public if areas get 8-12” vs 15-20” it won’t matter to most, it will have similar impact, especially with most of this falling at night. I’m on north shore of Nassau on Long Island and schools are already cancelled for tomorrow. Would be the case if 8” or 18” fall. The high or low busts will determine if Tuesday school is cancelled. Will be a nice storm for most. Would just enjoy. .
  17. How much is lost to the white rain and rates during day today. An inch or two of accumulation that is being shown on the maps? .
  18. All hard to believe with it being almost 50 today. One of the nicest days in a while with tons of snow melt. .
  19. They also pushed back timing about 6-8 hours of warning .
  20. Seems like a snow/sleet mix here in NE Nassau. Between 8-9” on the ground. .
  21. Just shoveled the walkway in anticipation of sleet in a few hours. 4.5” or so here in Oyster Bay Cove NE Nassau county. Hardest rates of the day now. .
  22. Agree I think places will do fine. Seen the comparisons to Dec 2020 storm. Would gladly take that. Had 10-12” on north shore of Nassau with that one before short flip to sleet from what I remember. .
  23. I’ve seen some TV Mets referring and showing the Graf model that shows little mixing. Anyone know what model that is? Is correlated with one of the main US model? .
