Let me guess. It is a WWA until 3" on the ground with rates - and then it becomes a Warning. I have seen this movie before.

Winter Weather Advisory Northern Baltimore County? Tell me that is fake news :---(

replying in banter as to not derail the long range thread.
its pretty bad, I think you would notice if it was impacting your well. We've been in our house for almost 11 years now. We have replaced our well pump/tank, water heater, faucets, etc. many times in those 11 years. the sodium chloride they use in road salt is corrosive, eats away at pipes and tanks like crazy. we actually sued the state and won and walked away with a small settlement that would pay for an RO system in the house. But then covid happened, and we kept the money in savings in case shit hit the fan. Our water still sucks and I hope one day we can put the RO system in the house. But its going to a pain, a new well field will need to be dug, a big trench off the house out to the new well field, etc. So much work to do to have good water.
So we have water delivered to the house to eat/cook with, and we have a great plumber on call when our well pump/tank and water heater fail. Yippee.
O wow. You know… we did have pinhole leaks years ago in our copper pipes. A whole bunch over the course of a few years. Like 10 years ago. Now I’m wondering if that was related to PD1 PD2 and 2009-10 etc. I never even thought of that !!! -
and people's wells! I can attest that the salt on the roads have contaminated my well at my house.
Interesting. Im not sure how it is affecting my well, but ironically we need to add salt to our water to soften it. But that’s pure rock salt. Not sure what is in the actual chemicals they put on the road but I’m sure they’re not buying the big bags of rock salt at home depot like me. -
Just a smidge over 4”. Absolutely will take.- 4

we went through all the big ones together*
I wasnt on any weather forums or chats in 1996..I know some people were
1996 was my first winter online when I found the first internet relay chat and the Blizzard of 96 was my first online storm. It was different back then. IRC was a scrolling live feed like a ticker tape. If you walked away for 30 min you had to scroll all the way back.
About 30 min before the first flake I remember someone posted “2.8 inches of QPF!!!!! I see it but I can’t believe it”. And then it happened. And I was hooked.- 3

I've been following since AmWx (2006 or so?). I think if you're into this type of thing, you're into it for life. I don't think any of us are going anywhere...
Can confirm. Ive been here since #neweather on Internet Relay Chat.- 1

Everyone said last week we needed to clear the weekend systems before we got a real look at today and Friday - and how bout that - we cleared the weekend systems and now the models picking up on it again. It is only Monday. Maybe just maybe the original idea of a warning criteria storm will start the trend today.

I love that I know and understand weather and that as I stand in boog’s bbq line and watch people in bright sunlight that I am part of the 5 out of 100 people on average that knew to bring sunglasses when it was raining all day …. Until now.

Pretty ho hum so far. Hope we can manage another round of sustained rain this afternoon or a lot of these rainfall forecasts are in trouble.
She's still pretty far south on the satellite loops and has a while to come north - as in all day long and night while.

What are the odds it makes it to Cat 1 is the question.
What are the odds it is showery and breezy and causes someone to post the tipped over lawn chair that says "we will rebuild"?

Phew. We need something to hold us over until there is a real tropical tracking event.

BGE had a sinkhole open up under one of their trucks on Salem Bottom road last night. It flipped the truck with the crew in it in the middle of the night. I know they suspended operations for the night after that so I'm sure they're going to be slower with power restoration.
Between the power outage last Friday night (the “underrated day” that delivered) and last night, I am ready to call this severe season a wrap.

We still have no power at Chestnut Ridge - Northern MD. Nothing like sleeping in the dark, in the heat, with no cell service, no wifi, no water (no well pump). And after looking at Carroll County and Westminster Pike, I doubt any BGE trucks will be freed up any time soon. :—(

Is there a particular link or map / link that is best to see a visual animation as to which areas are clearing out? I am using this:
https://www.star.nesdis.noaa.gov/goes/sector_band.php?sat=G16§or=ne&band=GEOCOLOR&length=24
But perhaps there is a better way

It’s days like today when I start thinking whether the underrated days will over perform. There’s a feeling in the air as I walk the dog .
