  1. I booked this trip to Manhattan back in November...can't believe I got lucky enough to arrive the day before this event. I will say, in midtown Manhattan, I don't think I ever saw blizzard conditions. Windy and heavy snow yes (obviously), but not sure I saw true dictionary definition blizzard. At any rate, seemed to be ~21", 54th @ Broadway. Most I've seen since Boxing Day 2010 when I lived in South Jersey near Philly. Central Park was a full blown ice rink around Gapstow and the Pond. The hills turned into a shared chaos, people inching down sideways, others attempting a confident stride and immediately regretting it, arms flailing like cartoon characters before gravity won. Every few seconds you’d hear that half gasp half laugh as someone caught themselves at the last possible second, or didn’t. Strangers were bracing strangers, forming these random temporary alliances just to survive a 30 yard descent. Suits, tourists, joggers, kids, all equally humbled by basic physics. And somehow, with the skyline framed through snow loaded branches and the lamps glowing against that deep blue dusk, the whole slippery circus felt kind of perfect. Also, my bagel adventure this morning while it was still coming down https://youtu.be/QcteDqxqOUk?si=zieMQ98iKXcDUyic
  2. Biggest flakes all storm in Manhattan right now. 12:46. Still coming down hot and heavy.
  3. Just woke up to take a leak and peak outside. Hard to tell from the 7th floor how many inches but Manhattan is pretty well covered. I'll prob go for a walk at 0900 or so
  4. Yep. I'm at 54th @ Broadway and it is absolutely puking snow right now. Sideways as hell. Went for a walk about an hour ago and it was freakin rough. Gonna walk around the block again at midnight. Crazy rates right now
  5. Manhattan 16:30 - Sticking to cars and rooftops, 54th @ Broadway. Rates seem to be picking up, snow coming down is starting to blow around from my view on the 24th floor
  6. Been snowing pretty steady in Manhattan for 3-4 hours now, roads and surfaces are still mostly clear. Finally starting to see some stickage on the dirt tree root things on the sidewalk. 34th @ 7th
  7. Still snowing in Manhattan. Surprised to hear JFK is still rain. I am from NC and up here this week for business, but Ive been tracking this storm since it showed up. I still think, and always have, that 12-18" is most realistic for Manhattan. Hoping for more so I dont have to actually commute to the office this week but it's still gonna be a good time tonight. I'm super excited.
  8. Steady light to moderate snow in Manhattan for the past hour or so. No accums or sticking yet (at least not visible from the 17th floor window)
  9. Might be,but its not exactly impossible in this region. In Feb 2010 PHL saw 28" and then another like 12" a week later. December 2009 also saw a solid 18". That being said, it started off as a fair amount of rain here in Manhattan...on and off snow now though.
  10. Off and on snow showers in Chelsea
  11. I'm driving up from Raleigh to DC on Saturday and DC to Manhattan on Sunday, looks like y'all yous guys are finally gonna give me the storm I fuckin needed. The dry slot over MBY last storm damn near killed me. I'll be in New York all next week...stoked. I lived in Mt Holly NJ from 2008-2011 and got to experience the crazy 2009-2010 season where we got like 24" in one storm then another 8" and in Dec it was ~12-18" or so, I can't remember exactly...but it was epic. Bringing my lady too who was born and raised in NC and is not used to legit NE snows....please please please let this pan out another 12-18" lol
  12. Euro coming in hot for the MA and NE too. I'm driving from DC to Manhattan on Sunday late morning...should be interesting lol. At least I'll finally get real snow being in the city all week.
  13. I mean I'd rather it be snow but....damn do i love me a good steady rain. I'm such a sucker for any cozy vibes
  14. Driving up to NYC next week to stay for a week.....hoping and praying they can squeeze out an inch or 2 while i'm there
