For me, I believe 1994 was the year on Long Island had an Ice storm I will never forget, a crystalline paradise that stayed in tack for a few days. Temperatures were suppose to rise above freezing but a NNE wind kept it all Freezing Rain
IIrc we were supposed to change to rain and mid 30s in VD07 but stayed in the mod 20s and sleet.

Remember a sleet storm in the late 80s early 90s that dumbed 4 inches of sleet in roc. Was insane. It is a bitch to drive in as well. Pulls you off road.
VD and St paddy's day 07 both featured 5-6" of sleet where I lived in Queens. Absolutely epic. Trillions of frozen ball bearings were a nightmare for plows.

Hey Eric, we're both further north
Yes we are! You're in a much better spot than I am, but we keep following each others lattitudes closely lol.

I'd hope that verifies. Id take 3 or 4".
Usually kuchera maps are overdone but in this case probably not? Is kuchera ratios capped? Some could get 25:1+

Actually just had a burst of snow and sleet. Quite the wintry day and I filled my daily dusting quota.

I once had an ice storm in the city when I was a kid where the entire street froze solid. Me and my dad skated down the street with our skates passing the puck around, will never forget that so much fun.
Yeah it made for quite the sketchy dog walk. My fiancee and dog didn't find it as fun as I did.

I haven't even used my snowblower yet this year. Let's see if I can make it the entire year.
Same. Looking doubtful.
As far as today goes, this is the worst I've ever seen my street we could literally get a hockey game going.

The big snows are down in the Virginia snow belts.
Yeah, time to pack up and move to the winter wonderland known as Richmond. Charlotte looking good too.

Looks like I'll be right on the line of 3 or 4" or a decent event this weekend, then in the icebox. -5° is much easier to embrace when there's deep snowpack. Pointless cold doesn't really do it for me unless it was wildly extreme.

Another day, another inch. Improvement over the daily dusting.

You gotta move to the snowbelts of the mid south to get reliable snows!
Yeah, torn between Alabama and eastern VA

Next week I get subzero and a single digit high, so at least it'll feel like winter.

Wow, Watertown has really been hit today. Check out the snow depth above the bench seats in the background:
Whoa. Super jealous, underdone for sure.

NWS says band is locked in place until after midnight. Another 12 hours to go. They say it likely intensifies later tonight. I'll be chasing all night!

Yeah, I got extremely lucky. Eyeballing a couple of inches out of the window.
