Drizzle. What looked very promising just completely dried up. I'm trying to understand what was over nenj/nyc are to cause it to literally evaporate?

68 and sunny out. Atlantic County was getting hit hard this morning with thunderstorms.

What year was it that the entire summer was cool and rainy nearly every weekend? Early 2000's?

No rain by my house but some towns to my northwest while driving in got soaked good it looks like. 76 and gorgeous outside. What a relief!

Sitting outside the other night the breeze made it feel somewhat comfortable even though it was still 94 degrees. It made me wonder how unbearable life must've been before a/c, fans or even proper insulation in buildings 100 years ago. Anyway, its 93 and our a/c at work finally started working again. -
94 currently in Mahwah, NJ. Came in late to work after being in Newark,NJ earlier. What a drastic difference in temp feeling even thought it was only 5 degree difference.

Left for work and was like "why is it so dam dark to my north and northwest". Look at radar and was like ohhhhhhhhhh. 74 and crazy humid at home, 70 and same at work. Bugs, no idea what flying everywhere getting in eyes and mouth just walking to work.

They do it to keep geese away too. They did it to every field in our town. I hate it.

What an amazing evening last night. Needed to cut the grass before this scorching heat made it impossible to do. Nice cool breeze afterwards. 67 and sunny now.

While yes, wires down/blown transformers from wind/tree damage will take out power. A lot of times that will get repaired and power is back on in a few hours. With the heat i think its more of a an issue because the huge load being put on the system that even after the power goes out and is restored, the load for power is still present and could just cause the power to go out again and again.
