    I found this: Avoid nitrogen fertilizers: Avoid nitrogen fertilizers, as they can promote the growth of fungi. Instead, use a slow-release fertilizer that contains phosphorus and potassium.

    I think fertilizer actually enhances the fungus at this point. You may want to look into that.
