USGS at Four Mile Run just now is starting to record some new precipitation.

The silly weather radio keeps beeping me.

At least LWX appears to have dropped the habit of whooping at me.

USGS indicates the gauge at Four Mile Run in Alexandria picked up just about 4 inches of rain. It almost hit flood stage, but is back down.

DCA picked up 2.62 for the event.

Can't SOMEBODY please tell NOAA radio to quit referring to Fred as Frederic??  Frederic was 1979.

Got half-pea sized hail in Crystal City.

* Flash Flood Watch for portions of DC, Maryland and Virginia,
  including the following areas: in DC, District of Columbia. In
  Maryland, Anne Arundel, Calvert, Carroll, Cecil, Central and
  Southeast Howard, Central and Southeast Montgomery, Charles,
  Frederick MD, Northern Baltimore, Northwest Harford, Northwest
  Howard, Northwest Montgomery, Prince Georges, Southeast Harford,
  Southern Baltimore and St. Marys. In Virginia, Albemarle,
  Arlington/Falls Church/Alexandria, Culpeper, Eastern Loudoun,
  Fairfax, Greene, King George, Madison, Northern Fauquier, Orange,
  Prince William/Manassas/Manassas Park, Rappahannock, Southern
  Fauquier, Spotsylvania, Stafford and Western Loudoun.

* From Thursday afternoon through Friday morning.

* Several rounds of thunderstorms are expected Thursday afternoon
  through early Friday morning with localized rainfall rates of up
  to 1-2 inches per hour possible. Total rainfall amounts of 1-3
  inches, with locally higher amounts up to 4 inches are possible.

* Heavy rain in short periods of time will cause the potential for

I went down to Hains Point in DC this morning, and only one cherry tree near parking area 19 was starting to show anything.  Maybe in another week.

There was quite a bit of flooding covering some of the sidewalks, even in some areas that hadn't been closed off.

0.1" in Arlington, sidewalks starting to be covered, The Hill of Doom still wet.

...POTENTIAL WINTER COMMUTING HAZARD FOR THE BALTIMORE /
WASHINGTON METRO AREAS MONDAY MORNING...

There is a potential for hazardous commuting conditions for the
Monday morning commute. A period of snow is POSSIBLE (a 40
percent chance) before the Monday morning rush hour ends across
the Baltimore / Washington metro areas with up to an inch
accumulation on area roads. The area with the highest risk of snow
arriving before rush hour ends is northwest of Interstate 95.

The winds in Arlington are toppling trash carts and sending stuff up The Hill of Doom.

If one believes LWX, it's currently calling for 0.3 of decorator snow at DCA, to then be warmed and washed away by rain.

And now there have been two salt trucks, and a third just spread sand too.

I guess they are worried that vehicles will slide helplessly downhill and try to take out the I-395 wall.

The Hill of Doom in Arlington had two plow trucks going uphill, plowing in my side of the street.

I wondered what pull some neighbors on the other side have with the county.

But then a third truck went down the hill and plowed them in...

I measured 0.9" of sleet on my cartop in Arlington VA.
