  1. Amen to that. Isn't this the same guy who said he was done with winter after the Nov snow because it was 1" less than forecast? Come on, at this point, just enjoy the snow globe. Down to 23.7 degrees here in Ross. Snowing steady, but not heavy.
  2. NWS updated forecast. Still would like a SE bump ideally to jackpot on the storm itself, but I will never ever ever complain about double digits in one go.
  3. Well that makes more sense. It’s 13 here at my weather station in Ross.
  4. “Down”… I think any of us would take that willingly.
  5. I'm wondering if this is counting the Weds potential storm too, hence the elevated totals out east (and valid through Thurs in upper left). I very well could be reading it wrong though.
  6. I’m thinking a pretty safe 8-12”. Ain’t nobody going to be upset with that.
  7. Odd, that one has more precip east when we’ve seen more west of city on other models.
  8. 6z Euro still gives 8" at PIT, so starting to converge higher. This guy is giving 11-16" https://dtwxrisk.medium.com/1st-guess-snow-map-for-jan-16-17-tenn-valley-east-coast-winter-storm-d31a02503f1b
  9. Wunderground dropped from 10” to 8”, but upped totals in Laurel Highlands to 14”. With the winter we’re having, anything over 4” sounds good to me.
  10. FWIW, WUnderground for Ross Twp started the day at 4", now shows 10".
  11. WTAE picked up on it this morning with only a vague “could be potentially looking at a significant snowfall event, but still too early to tell and you will hear it here first” tagline. Wunderground showed 4” last night, 6” this morning for the same time period.
  12. Our family heard it in Ross Twp. It was loud enough to rattle the windows here. Sounded like one loud thundercrack, but given people have said they heard it from Moon to Oakmont to Greensburg to Bethel, it looks like something higher up in the atmosphere is more likely than something on the ground. In other news - Thursday seems to be flirting up and down on WUnderground with totals. Temps look right, at least.
  13. Interestingly, even though NWS called for no freezing precipitation here, I woke to a light glaze of ice on everything.
  14. Looks like potentially a very very slim chance of a dusting in Christmas evening?
