I also can't believe one of you literally created an account on reddit to stalk me. WHat the hell is your problem?
That's next level lol

Our climate is nowhere near as bad as it’s been recently. Until the storm last year we had only a few 6+ inch storm even in the previous 10 years.
We've been above our average each year for most of the last decade. Our average snowfall actually went up after 2010-2019. We had a top 5 storm all time to start the decade and another 10" storm in there. Numerous 6-10" and a lot of 4-6" also. This decade we've already had a 10" storm and a 9" storm. This is exactly our climo and even exceeding it.

Any good cams in Boston to view this one?

What is your problem dude? I'm hoping the radar fills in. I don't have an inch as is probably the case in most of AGC. We will see if we can catch up a bit. I doubt it though.
I live in Crafton, 4 miles from the city. We have 1" easily.

Yeah - 11” in March 2018. That was a nice overproducer. Not quite the impact of the 12.20 storm, but nice prolonged snow if I recall.
I loved that storm. Was amazing to see it accumulate w poor sun angles and was also great to finally snap our streak of no 10" storms.

Lol. The reports from the storm last week all had areas right around the city at 6-7 inches. I am not making that up.
Today, again, I have an inch at most, and I think most people around the city and south would say the same.
Last December I had probably over a foot while the airport got less than 10 inches. I had more with that one and was a great storm but was our only really good storm in the last decade. Everything else has been a whiff.
We had a 10" storm in 2018 also. Nearly three 10" storms in the last 4 winters alone

Clippers don’t quite have the excitement of the chase or high ceiling - but certainly can be nice when you start with a good snowpack
We also have a tendency to over perform w them it seems. For all of the times we have been screwed on big storms there have been equal times we've overperformed on a simple clipper.

I'd rather not live in Beaver County though.
I'd rather move to Cranberry if I was looking for more snow.

If we can get 2-4 on Wed then we make up for our lost snow here. Boom.

So basically we ended up about 4 or 5" less than the big snows to our west. Not too bad considering all the obstacles we had to clear.

The new HRRR just completely obliterated our totals. It basically gives AGC nothing for the next 6-8 hours.
Edit: maybe 2 or 3 inches. We are going to be relegated to praying for wraparound snow.
I can't even keep up w this anymore. Someone just posted 10 min ago saying the HRRR just showed 8-10" more lol

I wouldn't say it's doom and gloom for me, more or less just matter of fact statements about how we never get all snow out of a winter storm in Pittsburgh and we all should have known better, including the NWS.
We had a 10" storm in 2018 and nearly a foot last December. Still a chance we hit 10" w this one. I understand the sentiment but recent history has started to reverse this trend.
-
So consensus seems to be 2-3" otg We really don't seem too far off from where the models had projected us to be at this point. Maybe an inch or so lower? Idk. Mixing should be behind us now, I think we made it out ok.

I've seen very little sleet if any, so things have gone right for me, lol.
How much would you say you have so far? I've mixed a good bit but do still have around 2"

Most likely thats the sleet changing to all snow so it appears as lighter
Was going to say, probably a good thing. Those bright yellows haven't been kind.

This damn flip flopping is making a jebwalk hard to time hah

Pouring snow now with a nice gust. Wow. Storm has arrived

Well if we're all still staying mostly snow at this point we might be able to escape any large dropoffs in totals. Nws was only expecting the mixing possibility until about 8 or so.

Rates have been a little meh for most of the storm. Looking forward to some dumpage. Actually rates are good despite some sleet mixing in still

Mixing here also. Sleet

My childhood traumas kicking in. I remember a storm from either 04 or 05. It was forecasted as 6-10". Jeff V had a special cut in about a swath of snow that would produce 1" hour rates. It came in as sleet and remained sleet the entire storm hah

TO get off my doom and gloom about the storm, I do want to say I really do miss the old NWS radar. The snapshot of it you see before you click into it is still the old radar so I generally just zoom in on my phone.
I just downloaded an app called MyRadar. There's a classic radar option and it is basically that old nws one.

As much as I love snow, by this time of the year I'm ready for warmth lol. 15 year old me would be disgusted.
