Not really out of nowhere. That period from Fri-Sun keeps popping up in some fashion across the models. It’s there on the gefs too. We are gonna get a smedium sized event next weekend. Count in it. Lol

89 had the greatest bust for me. Forecast in swva was for 18” of snow. Early December. Result: not a single flake.

Exactly my thinking when I posted last night. A cat 5 just east of us will not only do us no good, but it will kill anything behind it for a few days.

I think our best hope is to hope that monster storm doesn’t happen and opens the door to that system trying to scoot across the center of the country like the gfs showed yesterday at 12z

This says it all. There is a huge reservoir of cold air. That’s probably gonna be hard to dislodge. This could be a long stretch of good opportunity.

I don’t remember Nov and Dec of 95 being warm. In fact, in swva December was very cold and snowy.

I think Friday forward is when there are possibilities. I won’t look beyond the upcoming weekend.

I’d much rather have several events like Thursday than have one big storm.

I’m thinking we see a system of interest within the next 7 days. I will not be looking beyond that time.
