North Shore will probably get skunked. The boundary the storms are following was pushed south by the Douglaston and Smithtown storms so now they are favoring the south shore. Some thunder here and light rain, maybe it picks up to moderate for a while.
It’s literally pouring at the end of my block, maybe 1/10 of a mile away. Not a drop here

Saw a 4.13” pixel right near Douglaston. Too bad it refuses to move and it’s probably helping to stabilize the setup here and elsewhere since now it’s just cloudy and windy here from the outflow boundaries all over the place.
It’s like hitting a wall over NYC. Can’t fathom how this is happening yet again

Not one drop where I am. And of course. HRRR pretty much has this spotty stuff here where one place gets 3” and a mile away 3 drops. South Jersey Alley gets crushed again as the storm activity over NJ consolidates there.
Although Upton has slowly been lowering total precipitation for us

Same here. Hanging hopes that this is not just a frontal passage, which usually screws us

Can the immediate South shore LI possibly get screwed over again? NS is cranking right now
-
Deluge in brightwaters, with a little thunder
-
Unfortunately it looks like the rain chances overnight into tomorrow for LI(especially Suffolk east) are dwindling
-
@jm1220you were right. Pouring here now

The storm over Plainview/Farmingdale might clip you.
It’s trying to grow further east. Fingers crossed

Looking like MBY is getting the split screw again.

Today’s PSA: do not walk in 100+ heat index weather when you’re just getting over shingles.
-
You can see the line starting to wane as it slowly pushes east. Not expecting much here.

Does it have any chance to bring some rain across LI? SW Suffolk to be more precise.

Sprinkles. Waste of time

I’m not overly enthused for LI based on radar. Wait and see

I don’t have pics to prove it, but a Suffolk County police friend just told me that parts of sunrise highway are buckling from the heat. In my 56 years, 57 tomorrow, I have never seen or heard of this happening. I’m a closet recluse, so maybe it has happened before. Happy birthday to me!

Anyone else have cave crickets? They are one of the nastiest insects. They thrive when the humidity rises. Trying to kill them is an adventure. Supposedly they are blind, but hyper sensitive to their surroundings. One defense is when they feel threatened they jump right at you!

Down to a cool 95 degrees. Time to turn off the AC, and open the windows!

At least last nights rain cleared out the humidity.
