So long to the warm, dry week we were supposed to get!

Hold up.

Yesterday, the coming week was supposed to be in the 70s from start to finish, dry and sunny.

Now, all of a sudden, I see 60s, chances for showers and (at least) partly sunny??

WTAF?

Persistent S wind preventing freeze even at IAD. Never dropped below 39 at DCA.

Clouds and light S wind prevented frost.

I really want a hard freeze even in the heat islands to get rid of the mosquitoes until spring.

I thought it was supposed to be clearing up by now. Still socked in with drizzle.

Yesterday Tysons/Vienna actually had no rain except brief sprinkles now and then, and I thought it was almost over.

Rain bands moving from east to west look ugly and unnatural.

From the radar it looks like Savannah has escaped much impact. Good luck for them!

Feels like November already. 

What I want is for Ian to take an abrupt right turn, head out to sea and give us bupkis, and for October weather to be a Xerox copy of October 1963.

Very light rain in Vienna. 

An hour ago it looked on radar like Tysons Corner would get only an isolated sprinkle, but the line has been filling in as it approaches.

One, maybe 1 1/2, nice days and then back to the damn humidity. Why can't it just leave until next July???

Thought it was supposed to stay cloudy all day. If I'd known the afternoon was going to be sunny I'd have brought my hat, and a book to read on my walk home. Reading on my phone doesn't work on sunny days because the screen just gets washed out, unless I set the text size to something ridiculous like six words per page.

It seems like, if it isn't actually raining, drizzling or about to rain, it's damn hard to get an overcast afternoon in the DC area. IIRC these were a lot more common in the 70s and 80s.

Blasted dewpoints are starting to creep up already.

And you can't count on fall starting until mid-October; remember 2018?

Just one tiny shower on the radar in Northern VA, but it seems to keep moving back and forth over Vienna. Light rain intensifying to brief downpour, then sun, then rain again, then a few more minutes of sunshine and just now more sprinkles.

The damned humidity is starting to come back just in time for the weekend. DP up to 64 at IAD.

And dewpoint at IAD is up to 65 already, not too far from the disgusting range. 

Didn't take too bloody long, didn't it? Hopes will always be crushed in this damned climate.

Dewpoint still in the muggy mid-sixties. Shouldn't the real front have passed through by now?

Remember a couple of days ago, when a cold front was supposed to give the DC area sub-60 dewpoints this Saturday??

Nobody reached 100 yesterday despite full sunshine. With the clouds this morning, and it still being in the 70s three hours after sunrise, I'm kind of skeptical of the three-digit forecast today.
