Do you think Wiz should fire up a May 1 thread?
If he has not already, certainly

One must wonder whether or not the ski resorts will be able to make enough snow to offset the coming meltdowns. Very costly winter up there

Hopefully the mud freezes to maximize runoff, for the next flooding cutter up in ME

What a pattern, what a Christmas, what a winter. Awesome stuff

42.3 really feels Christmasy out there. Still a snowpack hanging on, though

While you're speaking hypothetically, in that hypothetical many would share that opinion. Way to soon to be making that call though.
I think we can pretty much lock it

If January turns into Tanuary, this winter could go down as a ratter

I haven't seen too many board melts thus far this winter. a mini-melt here and there but nothing heavy, overall fairly light events.
Nice stretch of winter wx incoming to finish December, we enjoy

MicaVimtoot? aka AtomicVomit sure had an interesting life, if anyone remembers him

You’re the doctor you tell us.
obs: it’s cold out.
I know nothing
CPC is leaning colder in the NE for their 30 day outlook, not unlike the anomaly distribution from this past Spring

I thought in the late 1980s/early 1990s there was a decent NYE event. Not a KU by any means but a foot or so?
Yeah, I think it was 89/90. Had 6" that changed to rain, then refrozen next day. Sledding at Diamond Hill next day was decent. Interior was better

The year and decade is ending, and unfortunately after a terrific December, that thread has derailed OT for several days. 2020 is coming fast so this is where to discuss mid-winter and the usually cold, dry month of January. Will the PAC improve, in tandem with NAO? How about MJO activity? Will suppression be a factor for storm threats?
