Yellow jacket nest under siding. They are getting spicy so can’t go near it. Exterminator coming tomorrow
And just today, a wasp species built a mud mound on my front lawn. I’m being attacked over here
.The ones in my backyard aren’t nesting they’re just hovering around im assuming looking for food

Off topic but does anyone have an issue with Yellowjacket’s this year? I had a hornets nest and an underground Yellowjacket next a few weeks ago now the past few days yellow jackets are hovering all over my backyard. Maybe it’s the humidity this year and the not so cold winters we’ve been having

Is there any confirmation that is actually heavy snow hitting the ground. If it is they are hitting the jackpot for Long Island.
Yes I can confirm it was heavy snow. I was dead smack in the middle of that band. Haven’t measured but looks about 3-4” mainly on grass and colder surfaces. There was some slush in roads as well

Yep Suffolk is an amazing place to be for late developing Miller B's, I think there was close to 18 inches there? We had 8" here which is an MECS any time but especially in March.
I had almost 20” I think it was March 21 or 22nd

Yes and we only have a 40-50 year sample size to base it on, but it works.
The one 10"+ storm was March 1993 which also changed to rain after dumping about a foot.
4-6 is perfectly fine for March for here.
March 2018 was amazing here in suffolk

Doubt it. I think There’s gonna be a big difference in south shore Vs north shore of LI tho. Wouldn’t be surprised if north of lie gets 4-5” maybe more
