  1. Ripping snow in Williamsville...will easily exceed a foot today.
  2. Second band moving into Williamsville right now and they look to be converging on radar. WIVB STILL has the band south of metro...
  3. Well consider the source...that was once the why guy
  4. For some incredibly odd reasons channel 4 in Buffalo (WIVB) is staunch that the LES gets no further than the southtowns tonight...even though it's already snowing here...they blew the forecast last night and they're well on their way again!!!
  5. Light snow already in Williamsville. And per radar the band on it's current trajectory is goibg to have no issue getting into the Northtowns.
  6. The AFD at 2:29 states into the Northtowns for about 4 hours this evening with a sharp cutoff at the Erie/Niagara border where a trace can be found, while the heart of the band will produce up to 8"...on top of this they are also keying on tomorrow night in the metro for about a 6 to 9 hour window of LES as well!!!
  7. GFS is bipolar. It is trying to show all rain systems through 15 days. It needs a vacation.
  8. This event is starting to remind me of December 2017. There was a double band lake event and the models only picked up on the southern band...meanwhile the northern band pushed into the Northtowns and dropped about 10" in about 5 hours. I see the same scenario later today. Also the shift upstrean is already taking place over lower Michigan.
  9. Looks like a lot of the southtowns to the immediate Northtowns could jackpot this
  10. Yep my guess is the models have again have under done the northward extent of the band.
  11. I have noticed the band over the Eastern end if the lake being replaced by a new band that has a more northern component. With the new band it's snowing on the fringes of Fort Erie in Ontario which in that trajectory would put the southern part of the metro back in play.
  12. Yeah I'm 1/4 mile from transit so that actually is quite a ways East.
  13. Wow there must have been an odd cutoff south last night...are you in the City? I have almost 6" now after the last 1/2" came through about 45 minutes ago in Williamsville.
  14. Yeah the GFS is off its mark. At least the op runs are.
  15. Good write up Freak! I have also had my eye on this storm for a couple days and to this time king Euro has held strong in it's track and giving us a decent punch...could be a general 6 to 10" snow from that storm.
  16. Picked up 5.4" last night in Williamsville...did not expect this...however, there always has been a bit of a southern bias to the models and this was a perfect example of that concerning LES. If the band does get back to the metro/Northtowns later this might be a pretty neat event.
  17. The 18z GFS now keeps the majority of our precip as snow and the low center going across the CWA for next Tuesday. If realized it will be the CWA best chance as a whole for significant accums.
  18. Action is beginning to take shape off eastern end of Erie
  19. I've seen a comparison to '85 and maybe '67? I know the forecasts are not doing a good job with temps for this but I'm feeling a day next week Thursday or Friday that will not get above zero in all areas and the low temp of -21 at KBUF might be in jeopardy. That is also a mean SW flow and I'm really curious of the LES potential.
