  1. Thanks for your perspective! It's nice to learn these things from people who have been here a long time. I moved here in early 2020 so I've only experienced a few events, and I've learned I got really spoiled with the two back to back storms in January 2022. I had a bit of foreboding when I was seeing Raleigh having mixing issues last night but I was hoping that wouldn't matter haha now I know!
  2. 12z GFS is wave after wave of chances so hopefully we get another go at it soon!
  3. Yep, feel pretty confident calling this one a bust. Just went out walking near Ghent and there's maybe a half inch of snow, but it's a mixture of sleet and snow falling now. Still nice to see, but lackluster. I wasn't jealous of my family and friends back in Georgia for their snow because I thought I'd be getting that and at least a bit more, but now I'm kind of jealous. Still a lot of winter left so hopefully we get another storm without a pesky warm nose. Happy for y'all that actually got a few inches and not slop! Time to get some sleep now.
  4. Okay, we've flipped back to snow. I think it was rate dependent. Hopefully these heavier returns continue for the next few hours!
  5. Yeah, we've been in some light returns so hopefully that's it. Think we'll be lucky to get to the low end 2''
  6. Starting to feel like a bust here. We had that initial snow band that put down maybe .5. Turned the grass and roofs white but it's been a mix for the past 45 minutes or so.
  7. Still waiting on the column to moisten in Norfolk. Hopefully not too much longer!
  8. Seems like the latest development is keeping the mixing line farther to our south in NENC. Fingers crossed!
  9. Yeah, I'm just north of downtown Norfolk near Ghent so right there on that line haha
  10. Hoping we can hang on to the snow during the heaviest precip at least.
  11. Anyone have the latest GRAF? Not sure how often it runs
  12. Loving those few hours of heavy banding down here before the flip happens. If we can get .1''/hr+ rates that would be optimal!
  13. AKQ really leaning into the warm nose for Southside Hampton Roads in their latest AFD. That's why we weren't upgraded to the WSW.
  14. Thanks! I'd lock that in and call it a success!
  15. Glad models are juicer for y'all away from the coast this morning. I just don't like warm nose on the NAM down here haha
  16. If that verifies (which HRRR, yeah idk) I'd be ecstatic!
  17. 00z Euro doesn't look too terrible for here but I can't see Kuchera on the free Pivotal site
  18. Luckily, I'm a night owl so I can sleep during the day on Saturday haha
  19. Still a pretty wide variety QPF wise between the models. Can't wait for more anxious model runs tomorrow!
  20. That's a really fine line between staying all snow and flipping between IP/SN for Norfolk. Don't like being that close! .
  21. Definitely in a better spot still than you are in NENC. Still doesn't look too impressive to me, but a long way to go. Just feeling a little despondent haha
  22. Starting to look like a slop of a storm down here. Front end thump of snow maybe and then a mix or just a cold rain. Bleh .
