3.4”. Massive flakes have tapered off, but there’s more yellows to the west.
-
Snow/sleet mix. 3.0".
-
Still all snow here. Are people confusing rimed flakes for sleet?
-
2.7” and -SN with rimes, granular flakes. Need the stuff out towards Winchester to hurry up before we mix.

2.5" in N Arlington. Seems to be winding down. More snow to the north, west and south of us but I can't really complain too much.
-
Highly recommend you get yourself into a yellow band. Thick, low visibility rippage.
-
Visibility has lightened and I have widely spaced dendrites now. 1.7” in N Arlington, hoping for 3.
-
1.1”, 30 degrees. Thick, tiny snowflakes pouring down.
-
Half inch here. Dont like that area of subsidence forming between the two bands.
-
Back edge already visible, about to pass Charlottesville. I'd be shocked DC gets even 2" from this considering how we have to get near freezing first. Most stations in the immediate area 34-36 degrees.

35 degrees. Looks like my temp actually went up at certain parts of the night.

If the HRRR is right (I don't think it will be) and DC gets 1" of snow... Closing the night before would be embarrassing.

I'm sure it'll bounce around, but latest HRRR is ugly unless you live north of Hagerstown.
The HRRR was horrific on 1/12-13. Literally never right. I don't really care what it says for this one.

Huh. Moderate snow in Arlington right now.
-
Sitting under a MEGA DEATHBAND in Arlington!! Just kidding, though it is lightly snowing again and it’s beautiful. 10.3”, my fifth highest snow total of the 2010s.
-
Looks like the 10-12” was mostly confined to between 66 and 70, with a localized jackpot of 12-14” in eastern Montgomery county. Totals slowly dropped off to the south and east, with a general 6-10”. North, the cutoff was sharper, as our posters from northern Carroll and Baltimore counties have lamented, with 3-6” there quickly increasing as you moved south.

Light snow has returned.

There’s a small space between the bottom of the ruler and the 0 mark that’s about 0.2 inches long. Is it improper of me to adjust for that?
-
Realized I had to add 0.2 inches to every measurement because of my ruler design, so I revised my total to 10.2” with about 9.7” actually on the ground.

.5 away from 10”. Hoping for a miracle (band).
-
Seems like there’s a lot of dry air in NOVA while Maryland is getting crushed. 9.3” and fringed in N Arlington. Congrats Moco on the 15”.

2/19-20 Winter Storm Observations
in Mid Atlantic

3.5" storm total. Light sleet mixed with plain rain now. 32.0 degrees, so sidewalk/road conditions are improving rapidly. Nice storm.
