    GFS tries to get SnowTV even out here to Richmond tonight and tomorrow morning. Should ignore that, or is it something to watch?

    Around about 10-11am I had a 5-10 minute period of sleet with a handful of huge white snowflakes fall here in western Chesterfield County. Since then, though, it's been a freezing cold rain.

    It's been 32 here all day with rain (and occasional sleet), yet zero icing. It must be 32.1 degrees. Literally the worst.

    Well, good news for you guys up North. Down here in Midlothian, VA I just briefly mixed with sleet and saw a mangled flake or two during a downpour. You're welcome and I still hate you.

    @DTWXRISK, what needs to happen with this system for the Richmond area to cash in on a little bit of snow? Any hope of a SE shift, or a more negative tilt? Or, should I just go book a hotel at Charlestown Casino for Tuesday - Thursday?

    Looks like Chesterfield County could get in on some flurry action soon, according to my radar hallucinations.

    Yeah, I'm not giving up yet. Radar looks better than the NAM already. Lots of times the precip shield extends much further than the models show. At the very least, we should see some flurries, which will make this the 2nd best storm of the year!

    12z NAM suite completely blanks the Richmond area.

    Not a fan of the 06z NAMs. Struggles to get any accumulation North and west of basically Petersburg.

    I should have never moved to Richmond. Cost of living may be cheaper, but cost of snow is too much to bear.

    Sleet in Richmond, VA. I’ll call it a win. First winter weather event for my newborn son born two days ago! It’s all his fault that I’m up at this hour to see it!

    I'm on the Henrico/Goochland line and we've had snow falling since about noon, but no stickage, not even on grass. My wife is at work in eastern Henrico and the ground is white, even starting to stick to sidewalks and side roads.

    Areas east of 95 and south of 64 down in Richmond are getting a good bit of snow. Even some stickage to sidewalks and side roads. Heavier bands have dropped the temp to 32 in some places.

    Holy crap, quite the storm just rolled through Midlothian, VA. Incredible wind gusts and hail.
