  1. GFS tries to get SnowTV even out here to Richmond tonight and tomorrow morning. Should ignore that, or is it something to watch?
  2. Around about 10-11am I had a 5-10 minute period of sleet with a handful of huge white snowflakes fall here in western Chesterfield County. Since then, though, it's been a freezing cold rain.
  3. It's been 32 here all day with rain (and occasional sleet), yet zero icing. It must be 32.1 degrees. Literally the worst.
  4. Well, good news for you guys up North. Down here in Midlothian, VA I just briefly mixed with sleet and saw a mangled flake or two during a downpour. You're welcome and I still hate you.
  5. This storm has bust written all over it.
  6. @DTWXRISK, what needs to happen with this system for the Richmond area to cash in on a little bit of snow? Any hope of a SE shift, or a more negative tilt? Or, should I just go book a hotel at Charlestown Casino for Tuesday - Thursday?
  7. Had maybe half an inch (unofficially) here in Midlothian, VA. My grass is green again, though...
  8. Chesterfield County is the new Jackpot zone for 2020-2021. Y'all DMV'ians just need to cope with it.
  9. Just got a burst of hail in Midlothian. Only pea sized, but still a fun little storm.
  10. Well, it ain’t much but neighborhood roofs and mulch beds are starting to turn white
  11. Green returns knocking on the Powhatan / Chesterfield county line door. https://weather.cod.edu/satrad/nexrad/index.php?type=AKQ-N0Q-1-48
  12. Looks like Chesterfield County could get in on some flurry action soon, according to my radar hallucinations.
  13. Yeah, I'm not giving up yet. Radar looks better than the NAM already. Lots of times the precip shield extends much further than the models show. At the very least, we should see some flurries, which will make this the 2nd best storm of the year!
  14. 12z NAM suite completely blanks the Richmond area.
  15. Not a fan of the 06z NAMs. Struggles to get any accumulation North and west of basically Petersburg.
  16. Atlanta officially has more snow than DC this year.
  17. I'm on the Henrico/Goochland line and we've had snow falling since about noon, but no stickage, not even on grass. My wife is at work in eastern Henrico and the ground is white, even starting to stick to sidewalks and side roads.
  18. I wasn't expecting anything, yet I'm still somehow disappointed.
  19. I guess it was 3-4 years ago now, but do you guys remember a similar storm that dumped a ton of sleet on Richmond and surprised areas like Staunton with 20" of snow? I can remember the forecast being for hardly any frozen precip for RVA and only 3-4" of snow before flipping out West, but the CAD was much stronger than forecasted. We can hope for something similar this time around.
