  1. That's what I wanted to say but I'm too chickenshit
  2. We are at the point now where I think the question isn't if it's a category 5 anymore....the question is how strong of a Cat 5 it is. On pins and needles waiting for recon now. My guess: 155 knots. 904 mb.
  3. Might be a troichoidal wobble, but in general its westward motion has stopped/stalled for now
  4. One interesting trend I am seeing today is this is diving southward further east. Not sure if it has any implications on future track (perhaps a pro met / knowledgeable poster can chime in)
  5. NHC is behind bigtime on current intensity
  6. I think the long wait for our nuclear carribean hurricane might be over. IR is looking quite vicious right now
  7. My question: What turns it west like that? Its recurving and then it stops on a dime right before it hits Florida
  8. This is one of the craziest recoveries I have ever seen from a cane crossing the Yucatan. This morning it was a naked swirl and now has multiple hot towers/mesos rotating around a closed eye. Wild stuff.
  9. Just observing the convection rotating much faster around the eye now, I think they find some big winds.
  10. Actually has a formative eyewall on radar now.
  11. Making declarations on lower flooding potential for a slow moving / stalling system in the gulf seems odd. Rainfall amounts are not tied to windspeed in any way...unless you are thinking the storm will be a eastern heavy system throughout it's life? Latest tracks are wild for this one. GFS hits corpus and Houston both from the east...so 2020
  12. This is not banter material. Shoot it's tough to tell what's banter material and what's not in the other thread. I feel like you have to post sound analysis In that one (which my post def wasn't).
  13. Latest GFS is one of the most preposterous modeled tc tracks I've seen
  14. And why do you think a New Orleans hit would be a bigger story than a Dauphin Island hit? It couldn't have anything to do with number of people affected could it? But the media...
  15. Because people like to make others feel inhumane for their fascination with severe weather. Makes them feel better about themselves. That post was bait and I shouldn't have took it
  16. Pecos Hank is the best one I've seen. Josh Morgerman as well. Basically ones who talk little and let nature's performance speak for itself Worst one by far is Reed or Jeff P.
  17. Naked swirl incoming. Good thing because Laura is gonna hurt somebody on the gulf coast
  18. They are bugging. This is easily one of the more impressive supercells of the year. Its been producing since damn near north of Houston with excellent structure
  19. Hoping it moves hard right to avoid Alexandria
  20. Really does have incredible structure on radar. The south has been bringing it this year
  21. I'm so sorry you wasted so much time typing that. You guys need to lighten up a little. I know Calderon is not a dumbass. I know he has insane amounts of knowledge. I know this was not the tri state tornado. When y'all get in these events your asses get tight lol. All love Calderon
  22. Ruthless crowd tnight. Gotta watch those keystrokes. I bet it crosses into Missisippi. New tri state tornado here we come
  23. Yes dumbass when it crosses Alabama it will be three. Jesus christ
