Partly sunny/mostly cloudy and 80 degrees. Pretty good SW breeze flowing through today.

Sunny skies and 78 degrees. Light breeze has veered SW today so it won't be long until dews start to creep up just a tad.

NWS State College @NWSStateCollege Temperatures are starting off on the cool side this morning, especially up across the northern tier! We've seen temperatures as low as 44°F in Warren and McKean Counties. With partly to mostly sunny skies today, we'll see highs in the 70s and low 80s this afternoon.

An incredible 56 for the low this morning in Maytown. Blue skies east of town, a smoky haze to my west. @Bubbler86 - very, very unusual for me to have a lower temp than you in the morning, especially on a day like this. I have to think it's in part due to the smoke. Much less over this way and we likely radiated out better.

The guy (ChescoWx) has made observations and kept meticulous records for years - I think he knows what he's doing and I would absolutely trust his numbers. I guess it's one's prerogative to question but I think CC picked a poor example to cast doubt.

Low of 59 - thought it might get a little cooler as I was at 61 at midnight.

Except that it's not a notorious cool spot at night - that location is cool during the days due to elevation but the valleys are cooler at night.

Shoot, I had a low of 58 on the 23rd. ("official" low was 60 at MU)

I have zero grass out front - my entire lawn is behind the house. Everything out front is mulched, ponds, decorative pieces, etc. I also have 2 Adirondacks for my wife and I to enjoy sitting outside later on hot days when the back yard is getting direct sunlight.

I agree with you 100% regarding starters hitting a wall - Kremer was given a huge cushion last night and couldn't make it through the 5th. I'm also concerned about starting pitching - and that also taxes the bullpen. If Fujinami pitches like he did last night, that would be huge heading down the stretch.

Was at friends yesterday and they said the same thing. I need to see this.

CTP mentioned I believe that essentially the southern tier stands the best (maybe only) chance at seeing rain overnight. Let's hope that it's a Franklin Flyer.

Today was a splendid summer day. This week could feature 7 consecutive days with below normal highs. I'll take that in a New York minute while the climate data is being scoured.
