When I was a teenager abd into my early 20’s…I used to always say, it doesn’t really snow here until into January. That was what mostly happened then. Last year and this year we are back to that. 19 and 20 there were big storms in December…so it’s weather. The pattern was fabulous…we just didn’t cash in. I don’t get what’s so hard to understand? Everything was in place.. it just didn’t happen for SNE. Nuances man. NUANCES. For the pattern that was coming in…it was easy to be excited. The nuances can’t be seen at length…and that’s what got us. The train analogy came from a couple folks that called a great pattern weeks before, and were absolutely CORRECT. Again…. You feel the need to tear shit down and degrade, when all that was called for was a great look, and that’s exactly what happened. Unfortunately we couldn’t cash in. It’s nobody’s fault and it’s not some dooms day BS about CC either.

Maybe you guys need to tone it down. You live in SNE…not Wyoming or the Sierras. Your expectations are unrealistic for SNE.

I completely disagree. Most years we lose December in SNE. You need to move out west in the high plains or sierras. And to be honest I give a fuck….I’ll take the snow on 1/15 or 2/15 and 3/15!! All 3 of those months it’s F’n winter. You and a few others are so dam disillusioned its pathetic.

We’ve all seen this Kevin dozens of times. We know the deal with you. So you’re gonna have to wait a lil longer…but it will snow again for all of us. The story on this season is one week in with 12 to go. That’s all one needs to know. Average snow(50” for me and 60” plus for you) is well within reach and attainable. Got a whole winter left to see how things turn out.

Who’s let down though? We just struck out in a very good pattern. Just because the look isn’t the best on some modeling, doesn’t mean we can’t score in Jan and Feb. I’m not putting stock in anything 384 hrs out..whether it looks good or not so good. 20 yrs ago I’d be let down and very upset. Now in my early 50’s, it’s a slight disappointment , and a ”wish it worked out differently” type of feeling. It will snow this winter…when it happens I’ll be content. Until then there is so much more to live for. And NNE will get theirs like they always do…and I’ll be heading way north to play in it. Just have to be a lil patient now.

Had a real nice pack here too in ‘15…missed the real big stuff out east, but it was no joke here either. Ya, unfortunately he’s in a snow hole for a lot of the bigger storms there in West Hartford.

Kevin, this season could very very easily reach average levels for most all of us in SNE, no matter where we are currently on 12/27. And it could easily go above average if we get a good run. I know you know this, and are spooning up conversation, trying to get the pros to chime in. Way better having the thaw now…than on 1/21.

That’s a 10mb map…stratosphere level…which is very deceiving for him to post something like that. Most non weather folks look at that and think that’s the surface, (or 500 mb) and will translate to the surface, and that’s certainly not a given at all.

Thaw now way better. 3 weeks from now we’re at peak climo and about to enter our snowiest time of the year. So we take the thaw now and like it now.
