  1. Listen, I don’t pretend to know how much snow we’re gonna get. All I know is that it will snow here in SNE this winter. Long range forecasting is a crapshoot at best…just look at what happened with the hurricane season forecast, it was a complete bust. So I mean I put very little faith into anything that is 4-6 weeks out at this moment. And for the heart of the winter we are 2.5-3 months out…so unless somebody has a crystal ball, I’m not buying into anything on 11/4. But that’s just me. If you guys want to worry yourselves to death, that’s up to you.
  2. You’re saying this on November 4th? And Maybe it is…we had the same shit for many winters back in the 80’s too…and it sucked. But It happens. So now you’re a fan of week four and five on the weeklies?
  3. We got a month before December arrives…and then it’s 5-6 weeks until the middle of December. Ya can’t know what can happen in 4-6 weeks from now either. And if December isn’t good…oh well. Summer sometimes doesn’t get warm/hot until we get to July many times. We will see how it plays out. Years ago this stuff used to worry me, and piss me off too. Not so much anymore. Winter will come..that is a fact.
  4. We should be kicking the can into December anyway. There were many years on end when it never snowed ntil January here when I was growing up.
  5. Ya,…I’m not worried. We’ll all be fine. It will snow. Probably not as much as we’d all want it too, but it will snow.
  6. It may never snow again, if ya listen to some folks here. Too much hyperbole.
  7. It’s sucked in the 80’s. An inch or two of snow, then sleet, freezing rain, and rain to wash it away, then cold for a few days to refreeze a lil crust. Then rinse and repeat. That was the “new norm” then for almost a decade. 2-4” and 3-6” were great storms. If ya got a 4-8” er it was a big win..but that was rare. A foot was a unicorn.
  8. Lol…new norm, what a ridiculous term. Last year it rained constantly..every weekend practically. And it rained right up until mid August. Was that the new norm? Now we dry, and sunny for the last 11 weeks. So we did a complete 180, and now thats the new norm now too. I guess everything is the new norm. Silly terms.
  9. Think what you want. This has been great. I’ll take this every autumn. But It will flip at some point. So certainly not worried about that at all. Back when I grew up all my life here, there were so many years, where it wouldn’t really snow(outside of a rogue flurry or squall) at all, until into January. That was the norm many of the years. It’s all good. We enjoy the great weather while we have it.
  10. Not so much excited about frosts, but I was only pointing out that it’s been an incredible autumn if you like great weather. We get cool a few days, and then we get warm for a few. And there's been frosts and freezes also…then repeat. Ya, dry as a bone…but the vehicles stay clean for a couple weeks at a clip which is nice. You get excited about a few acre brush fire …so ya, to each their own for sure. It’s all good. Gonna be another nice day.
  11. Who said wintry? Nobody said wintry. It shouldn’t be wintry in early November anyway. C’mon, you’re getting silly now. It’s been a fantastic autumn. We’ve had some of everything. Pretty much everybody has had a frost. A lot of us have had freezes. Nothing fake about it having at least a half dozen frosts, and a few freezes. Hopefully your peppers are still alive. You’re about the only one, or two who hasn’t frosted/or froze.
  12. What an autumn…best of our lives. Frosts and freezes at night a few times a week. A few days of crisp autumn temps each week, then a few days of temps that rebound back into the 70’s each week. And every day sunny. I mean, what’s not to like? Its the best of all worlds. Just a Sensational fall for SNE. Let’s keep it going.
  13. He’s in the incubator over there lol. 27 here…froze good. Was 31 here at 1:00 am, so a many hrs under freezing. Coldest morning yet here.
  14. Good point. Sometimes you look at them early and they look good. Then a few hrs later, they start to show the damage.
  15. I guess that was my point last night to you…the peace and quiet being away from a city as monstrous as NYC, must be a very nice change for you.
  16. Even with the warmth..we’ve had a lot of cold nights here this autumn. Which has felt nice.
  17. All our summer flowers got killed in the frost a few weeks back unfortunately. Lucky for you.
  18. When we say growing season..we mean gardens..not lawns. Gardens have been done here for a few weeks. Some areas the gardens I guess are still growing, like Tolland and S Wey.
  19. Under 32 is a freeze lol. But Maybe you can go the whole winter without a freeze? Now that would be something.
  20. DIT in his own incubator there…everybody else has froze/frosted multiple times already, or this morning.
  21. Oh I realize that, but Compared to the jungle he lives in it might as well be.
  22. Great explanation Bulldog. Ya…it’s been sunny, dry and gorgeous for almost 11 weeks now. Incredibly stable pattern for sure. But as you say…it’s a really good time for this to happen. In fact, let it persist for another 3-4 weeks to be honest. By that point, we’ll be pushing 14-15 weeks(almost 4 months) of the same pattern. I mean how much longer can that last? Something’s gotta give..and we might be right at a good point when it does…?
