  1. Yep thats him. Wondered what he was up to. Not surprised he's made a career of it.
  2. Random question.. do you remember the guy that was from Paducah years back. He built a weather tower on his property and everything. Was super smart. I talked to him a lot back in the day and then he just disappeared. Used to be active all the time, I'd say back in 2012-13
  3. Well of course we got over a foot of snow lol. Thats nearly half the average. But before this most recent storm... Look im not one that looks at 20 1/2" dusting as "well 10" so far is pretty good". Yes, it adds to the yearly total, but it isnt remembered and certainly doesn't equate to what a snow lover would call a good winter. This last storm, that was good.
  4. This is absolutely wild to me. Under 10" makes top 5 for single day snowfall in CMH. Im also surprised PD2 isnt on here. I know in Coshocton county, we got nearly 20" from that one.
  5. Haven't gone out and measured the yard but we have a foot on our back porch. All I can say is... It's about time... Wish this wasn't a once every 10 year thing. Hopefully we get some more to track in the coming month.
  6. Already up to 7" with the short range models showing another 10-12" to go. If accurate could start to challenge 2008.
  7. Can confirm from someone I talk to theyre seeing flakes in Dayton. So not long to moisten up.
  8. I was worried about putting 14" because its so rare here. Ill update once I see how we do with Virga.
  9. Here's been my call since yesterday. Will be interesting to see what happens in SE Ohio. Think they get minimum 6" regardless but if they can avoid sleet and zr, think they could push 20"
  10. Im opposite. Im more concerned it keeps pushing nw until we get freezing rain/sleet lol.
  11. Well it certainly cant go any further south. All but GFS have ticked north a bit.
  12. Disagree. I couldn't care less if we're above normal when its 1" here and 1" there. That doesn't equate to a good winter. We have had 1 decent snowfall of 5" in November, aside that its been mostly garbage. Do you need further proof than the fact I was the first post here since December 3rd? Lol
  13. Another year, another dud for us in Central Ohio so far. I think our best shot is gonna come around mid-february otherwise- maybe a couple 2-3 inchers if we're lucky. Frankly, I'm sick of it.
  14. As much as I loved March 2008 being in Ohio, Id say Presidents Day 2003. It was almost exclusively a day time storm and the amount for me was truly unexpected.
  15. NAM juicy for Monday/Tuesday, but consensus seems to be a 3-5" average across Central Ohio. Early season, would definitely take it.
  16. I'm more north of Columbus and we definitely had more than 23 days of 1" of snow. We had snow from the system after Christmas all the way to the end of January, then a brief melt with another system putting about 3" down that last 2 or 3 weeks. Our typical winter will see snow, then it's melted within a week then maybe a little more a week later etc. Not basically continuous. Yes there were melts but areas were quickly re-covered.
  17. I'm 40, and it's usually been snow then melts, snow then melts. I faintly remember when I was a kid it seemed like we had a lot more snow but could just be cause I was shorter lol.
  18. Wanted to get on and say, I think for the first time in as long as I can remember, we've has snow on the ground for nearly all of the winter, at least here in Knox county. It was never a lot, but we got our first snow right after Christmas. That snow lasted for about a month and a half. Then we went a few days without snow, but the next snow fall, while it is nearly all gone now is still holding on in some shaded spots. So for nearly 3 months we've had snow on the ground. It kinda kills the pre-winter predictions of a warm winter for us. It's not been remotely warm this winter, and we've had snow on the ground for more days than I can ever remember in the past and it was done without ever having a major storm in Central Ohio. Anyone else notice how long the snow stayed on the ground this year?
  19. Not sure what we'll get here but it's heavy snow currently. Guess it'll just depend on how long before it passes. Probably be our last hoorah for the year
  20. Cleveland took knox off yesterday, now back on and calling for the nice range of 1-4" lol
  21. You know we're in snow hell when Pensacola, FL is getting 6-8" and we can't get 4 lol
  22. I see 3-5 in my location. Taking it with a grain of salt, however.
