End of GEM has some nice looking potential.

We went from 3 legit threats 3 days ago to now hoping the first two cutters don't fuck up the pattern for our alleged big dog in 3 weeks.

Temps won't always be marginal later in the season. There's an impressive cold push at this time, so as long as the timing is decent it's going to snow and then it'll get cold.
Not saying it won't be cold enough to snow, just that we're not gonna get cold smoke this late in the season, and with the sun angle being what it is we just need rates to get real accumulation. That even includes overnight precip, at least within DC. I'm not saying it's impossible, in fact I love the fact we're tracking bombs and big dogs and not some weak piddling stuff. That's what we need. But big snow in DC past mid-feb is always always an uphill battle.

Rates rates rates is the name of the game around here once we get past mid-Feb. Temps are gonna be marginal no matter how you slice it.

No matter what happens this winter.....we had 2 good days out of 120. Nobody can take that away from us
That was one of the best weeks of winter we've had in years so I'll take it. Snow on snow was incredible.

i guarantee you most people in here would be tired if we got 8 weeks of conditions like we had that one week in january. nobody is that much of a winter weenie lmao
I actually don't disagree. I live up in Madison for winter 07-08 and they had a record 100" that winter, and by March that shit was more of a nuisance than enjoyable. But that was after like 4 straight months of snow cover.

Ok, so the story about this guy...if there are any doubts everyone on staff will confirm my story
So back in day, his name was Earthlight here. Good poster, knowledgeable dude, from the Philly forum. We liked him. So we put him on staff. So we started to notice that the Philly forum was getting a bit light. Eh, no big deal. Come to find out from a few anonymous PMs that this dude was using his position to poach Philly people from this board to his own...the entire time he was a moderator on staff here. Look, people are free to start a board and go wherever they please. That wasn't the issue. It was that he was a trusted staff member here and was actively poaching members and never resigned and was active in the mod forum. That was years ago and it's funny now and I'm sure he's a good guy...but back then we were all competitive and engaged in the stupid board wars of the early 2000 teens. It was a fierce pitched battle. Many died. A true widow maker. We've all signed a treaty of Versailles, so I'm sure that will never happen again. A war to end all wars.
But all of us admins are over the entire thing and I wouldn't even care if he posted here. We just thought it was a shitty thing to do at the time.
And that board today folks...is 33andrain. I think.

He's also a snake if that was the poster and staff member known as Earthlight. I'll save that story for the banter thread.
Haha yeah I think that was him, no idea about him being a snake though

Absolutely love this trade. Hall was okay in spots but I'm not too big on him. Burnes is a legit ace and exactly what the O's needed. Love Rubinstein already.

John is far too handsome to be a real weather weenie.
John's been around since the Eastern days. Can confirm he is a true weenie.

I don't see how this is even a debate any more.

KC has not been that good this year! Ravens were leading all but the last game (resting Lamar) with 2:00 left in the 4th quarter.. only the '72 dolphins did that. Then they ended up playing 14/17 teams that finished the season >.500 (that's even after the Ravens beat most of them, with the best record in NFL), and they crushed SF in SF. and Beat Detroit 38-3! I found though that elite QBs (Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Brett Favre, etc) beat the spread about 58% of the time, so I'm a little worried about Mahomes there, but the Ravens are much better this year than Vegas has been giving them all along the way! Even now, SF is more favored to win the SB. KC does have the #2 defense in the league this year I think.
I'm riding Chiefs +3.5. Honestly the Ravens side is really ratty and makes me incredibly suspect of the whole situation. Plus betting against Mahomes in the yoffs seems wrong.

Snow has picked up in Haymarket with filtered sun. If we can get a little bit better rates we will start to see some stickage on the roads again. Getting close right now.
Sun angle is definitely declining at a big clip now anyways. Whoever finds themselves under a streamer in the next few hours could easily whiten up everything again.

Everyone should be happy here considering what was depicted two days ago.
im guessing about 3.5-4.5” here in AdMo. Light snow not doing much accumulation. But even if we don’t get under another band I’m happy as a clam with this one. The puppy is in heaven!
Last night was truly incredible around these parts. As always we really require some intense daytime rates to get meaningful accumulation around here during the day. Pretty standard stuff for DC proper at least. This storm definitely exceeded my expectations though.

Rates have definitely picked up and flake size is better in the last 15 minutes or so.
