  1. I think any model hugging is a recipe for missing expectations. Better to kinda take a mix of all solutions, take note of trends, and pay attention to climo!! Like for yesterday models had DC getting like 2-4 as late as 36 hours ago, but if you've ever been in a borderline situation in DC you just knew that wasn't going to happen.
  2. Ehhh maybe, there has been some general hiccups across the models in terms of short range projections, but I think as a whole the models have been pretty spot on <48 hours out. I guess it's always smart to keep in mind climo 3-5 days out and expect things to change. At day 5 a model can show a threat but to ask it to set up ptype accurately seems to be stretch. I feel like we get hung up on snowfall and ptype at hr 120 and we miss the forest for the trees. I'm sure as hell guilty of it too.
  3. Just like with this past storm, I do believe the writing is on the wall for Saturday. NAM has been money starting trends at this time period this winter.
  4. Anyone else feel like this winter has been 10000x worse than last winter? I mean yeah last winter sucked, but we never really had a legit threat to track. This year it's been heartbreak after heartbreak. I'm kinda ready for spring guys...
  5. Really interesting stuff, the theme of Metro DC snow has always been razor thin since as long as I've been here, but back in the day it would break our way seemingly more often. I wonder what kind of affect global warming as a whole has on our region; we can't exactly afford a 1-2C degree increase in most storms, and it seems like we just can't push through any more to just get under freezing. I feel like I'm living in the southern St. Mary's Co of 20 years ago, if that makes any sense.
  6. Beautiful snowy DC...you jealous yet?
  7. My brother in Eastern HoCo says he's dumping, approaching 3" he says
  8. 93% rain, 6% sleet, 1% moxie here.
  9. Dumping on this board generally means -SN to maybe mod snow, so sounds about right.
  10. Love seeing upper MoCo bros cashing in, you guys were responsible for a ton of rainy snow days for me when I was a kid in Rockville. Upper MoCo such an underrated snow zone.
  11. I can't believe that band is all snow up by you, that's awesome. You must be dumping.
  12. Don't hear sleet any more, so I guess like all rain here now. Supposedly 34 degrees
  13. Sir you're going to have to take that pro-rain, anti-snow slant out of this thread. 34 and mod 70%rain/30% sleet
  14. We can definitely still get a lottery pick or two for beal, he's electric. I'm kinda dismayed because we really don't have a good young core...Bertans has regressed big time this year, TB is good but hurt, and Deni remains to be seen but I haven't really been that impressed. Rui is good.
  15. It's coming down good here but it's a rain/sleet mix. But the radar does look good for us getting precip for the next few hours at least, maybe we can cool the column? I'm doubtful
  16. Team is a mess, they somehow got worse defensively since last year. We gotta ship Beal...
  17. I can hear the sleet pouring here in DC, haven't looked outside yet.
  18. Seems to me based on obs here the sleet/snow line running somewhere around Northern MoCo through central Howard into Baltimore. Interesting stuff.
  19. Whatever it is it's definitely not snow, but it's probably a mix of sleet snow and rain is my guess. Guess we'll see
  20. Up your game bro, I got angry at the 6z NAM at 3am last night
  21. The man is on another level we can't even comprehend. Overcast and 35 still here
  22. I took Dallas in the south division of my Fantasy Snowfall league, trying to bank on the bonus points for snow above seasonal average. I'm hella pumped.
  23. Au contraire, Ji is one of the only reasons I occasionally read this board.
  24. Radar does look great for the C MD/N MD folks I will say that.
