    Yesterday’s 3:30pm reading was 90F at MVL.

    24 hours later today’s 3:30pm reading is 59F.

A 31F change in the last 24 hours is wild.  The heat is going to want to kick on if you leave windows open after AC yesterday.

    I was 86 around 1. I’m at 66 now.

I guess 8 states don’t allow happy hour including RI, VT, NC, and Alaska of all places.
    Weird.

NC has state run liquor stores like NH. But, they dont carry much of anything. The selection is really bad. Even basic stuff like vermouth is hard to find. They also dont sell mixers. People who live close to the border make liquor runs to TN, SC, or VA.

Wait a minute, are happy hours seriously illegal in MA? LOL

Yup. For years now. No 2 for 1, no $1 well drink night, no quarter long neck specials, no nothin.

  4. Speaking of Covid, my company dropped all mask, distancing, and occupancy mandates today, effective immediately for vaxed employees.
Unvaxed will have to wear masks and undergo weekly, MANDATORY Covid tests.
    Honor system.
Covid tests are offered twice a week, walk up, onsite, for free.

You probably weren’t spending much time in this sub-forum before last year, but prior to that this Banter thread would grow like a page per week, if that, during the summer.  This June banter thread probably has more posts already than a decade of summer banter threads… back before debating and trying to solve all the world’s problems was allowed .

Temp talk, dew talk or COVID, Bitcoin and toenails, take your pick

Life is pretty much back to normal here. We heal. We remember. We learn. We move on.

I've read some blogs where some are freaked out over this Indian/delta variant and are afraid we'll have to lock down and go back to masking and shut down over it. They point to the UK cases rising and hospitalizations there going up ETC ETC and think that it will happen here.

Some will fear this the rest of their lives. PTSD is real.

I'm interested in checking out the 99 Levels place that just opened in Natick where Sears used to be in the mall.  Looks like a bigger version of Boda Borg (which is awesome) plus a Night Shift Brewing taproom.  All good things

Top level where Sears was is a Dave and Busters.

The bottom level i vacant and is/was a mass vaccination site. It's where I got my shot

  8. Attention Fugi and any other mask update triggered people. Do not read the following!

My works mandate ends July 6 along with all occupancy and distancing restrictions.   Praise Jesus

Rats.  I need to switch plates and register a car.

It’s open. I’m not sure if they’re still doing appointments anymore or if you can just walk in. I had to register a new SUV last July and it was open for that. You just had to go on their web site and make an appointment a week in advance. It was a pain, but doable.

    Beautiful ball park though

Last season was the fist in a long time we didn’t go. We usually go down and catch a weekend sox series. Didn’t work out to go this year either. Hopefully next season.

It't not just the murders there, although they are bad enough. There is so much urban decay and petty crime now. Low-level crimes have mostly been "de-emphasized" by the police and DA so activities such as public intoxication, petty theft, shoplifting, fighting, open-air alcohol/drug sales and consumption, blocking random streets, and public urination are all more-or-less tolerated now. It makes the whole experience down there just not worth it. There is literally nothing in Baltimore that makes it worth dealing with that BS.

Tell the truth. You like to cruise Wilkerson looking for prosty’s to take to Tim’s.

You kidding? We'd have an entire thread of whining. Tropical threats in SNE usually involve a few lawn chairs blown over after DIT promises forests being flattened.

I dont remember the year. But there was death and destruction advertised and I had one measly stick blown in my pool.

I guess those of you with pools have been hit by this "chlorine shortage" deal? I have a saltwater pool but the chlorine generator died so I have to add chlorine myself until it can be fixed. Sheesh, had to go to different stores and then finally got the last box of tablets I could find and it was 90 bucks! I bought some regular household bleach last night to pour in just to clear it up as it was starting to turn green. But it takes many jugs of regular bleach to do the job.

First a lumber shortage and now a chlorine shortage? I wonder what random thing will suddenly be suffering from a scarcity problem next... perhaps waffles or vacuum cleaners?

I had to buy a new chlorine generator last year. Old one lasted 10 years. I have a big bucket of tabs from last year I use when the water is too cold beginning of the season for the generator to work.
Regular chlorox will do the trick

My Hayward heater threw an IF code. Thing was running then just quit. Tried to restart and got the IF. Blower works. Need to check the igniter, see if I’m getting 24VAC to the gas valve while it’s trying to fire, then clean the flame sensor. I ordered a new board, igniter, and flame sensor. So unless it’s the gas valve itself or a pressure problem, I should have it covered. If none of that fixes it, it’s the valve or pressure. If that’s the case I’ll have to call the propane company and out a manometer on the intake and the manifold .
I hate this crap. Just work dammit.

Since it quit in the middle of a run, and I can’t smell gas when it’s trying to go thru the light cycle, my guess is the board shyte the bed and closed the valve.
