FlashFreeze

I was in Murrells Inlet South Carolina for the 2017 eclipse and we had 99% totality which is nothing like complete totality, it was impressive but just down the road in Georgetown it was 100% total and the difference really is like night and day, if everything works out right I would like to be near San Antonio next year

I will be happy with any kind of frozen precip, came up from South Carolina last week and the only thing I’ve seen in the frozen department is a tiny bit of graupel and extremely light flurries this afternoon. Briefly considered  doing a victory dance

34° at 12:55am, high temperature yesterday 12-6-23 was 56° low was 40° pretty good NW breeze made it feel cooler in Pawleys Island SC

I’ll take a snow storm any time of the year however just from memory it does seem that October snow storms tend to be followed by fairly warm winters whereas cold Octobers tend to be followed by cold winters, strictly from memory

Hurricanes are no fun. I spend a lot of time in Pawleys Island SC and anything over a 2 would create tremendous destruction and if the storm was to recurve and hit CT here on top of the hill in Barkhamsted there would most likely be serious destruction and the surge along the LI sound shoreline would probably take years to repair

I did find out the ordinance is that you can’t start before 7am.  But  I truly HATE CT.  About 30+ people in my town gave me an earful about how I was a jerk for asking.  Apparently instead of being mad I was supposed to bring the poor Ass landscaper water because poor working guys have to make a living and it’s hot (yes, get out of bed in my pj’s at 6 am and run over there ‘cause that’s what they would do)  Never mind I have a difficult job and work a lot too and really needed sleep after a hard work week myself.  I was told that I should be wearing ear plugs (preemptively? - makes no sense) or that I should have been running a sound machine (again preemptively?) and then I was made fun of and threatened.  A guy on my street told everyone that it was too bad I was upset they were breathing my air.  They stole a picture from my fb page and cut it on to a mower and posted it and made fun of me.  They claimed to be organizing a “dad” lawn mower parade to go by my house next Saturday at 6:30 am.  These people are supposed to be adults.  They all have little children and look to be around 35 years old as per their FB pages.  There were no less them 30-40 people pig piling on.  I literally hate these people in CT, on this street and in this town. Why would any community treat a fellow community member that way? I have never interacted with any of these people.  I did not know any of them by name or by face and they certainly don’t know me. I’ve done nothing to provoke them other than ask a question. I basically don’t even live here. I asked a simple question about a town ordinance and got threatened. It’s just mind boggling.  I finally just tried to play it off and said that my husband would enjoy the parade and would be there to greet them and their parade just so they would perceive me as less vulnerable and less of a victim (because yes he exists and yes he won’t put up with their crap).  They accused me of threatening them!?  Seriously WTF.  As a couple of you guys know, I am a VT resident, I’m pretty close to retirement age and in reality I am only in CT getting the house ready to sell.  But when I contrast the way people are in VT with the way people treat each other in CT it’s a pretty sad stark difference.  I grew up in CT but people are just plain mean here now.  It’s very good incentive to hurry and GTF out of here quickly.  Whatever happened to being neighborly and community minded?  Apparently that is gone.  

At least from reading this thread I know that I am not the only one who thinks mowing at 6:30 am is rude.  Totally unbelievable.  People need to do better.

 Facebook opinions mean nothing, as the saying goes everybody has one, delete the account and don’t worry about people who have too much time on their hands, you won’t be missing a thing, there’s a product called Indows and they make a version specifically for noise, just measure and they will send you a perfect fit that installs in minutes

49° wind NE 13mph 3.30” of rain since yesterday afternoon, east to west bands of heavy rain since after 2 AM, couple of Tstorms too

37° and light rain in New Hartford, whenever the rain intensity picks up it changes to snow

was 10 years old and lived in Wethersfield Connecticut when the Lindsey storm came on my brothers birthday, Don’t know if it was actually a blizzard but it sure seemed like one

32° freezing rain and sleet has switched to snow in              New Hartford

24° and 5.75” snow total on top of the hill here,  4.50” at Satan‘s kingdom in New Hartford

 Snow has increased in intensity a bit, ground is covered and the plows have gone by, powdery snow that blows around as cars go

I don’t know even in a negative pattern it can still snow and it’s only December 5th, Larry Cosgrove said last night there could be a surprise or two even before the pattern starts to change around the 25th

Strictly an observer and have been on this site for a while, long enough to see that whatever the thinking is four or five days ahead of the event it’s a 50-50 chance, usually, sometimes it’ll be 6 to 12 inches of nothing and sometimes it’ll be 2 feet of partly cloudy, one thing for sure it will eventually snow, as of now there have been two snow events in Barkhamstead, a dusting and about 0.75”, pretty typical as of December 5th.

29° NE wind gusting over 35mph and moderate snow, hard to say exactly how much has fallen because of drifting but it looks like 15”-17” here in Barkhamsted, at the bottom of the hill in Southwick MA temp was 31° with snow and snow pellets, drove up from South Carolina Saturday hoping to catch a good storm, no disappointment here

Ended up with 2.25” snow last night
