One bright mid-May day I went to Dept. of Corrections land in Warren-Cushing.  This was pre-Supermax, when it was just the Bolduc Unit and prison farm, and our agency was tasked with managing the woodlands.  Forecast for Augusta was 70s, and it was sunny and 60 with light winds as I departed from the vehicle in Cushing.  30 minutes later came a stiff breeze off the still-frigid ocean, with mid-40s temp and drippy fog.  Was not a very comfortable day in the woods - not one of my better decisions, either.

lol, Looking at temps down that way today its 65°F in Rockland.

Two summers ago I met a friend in Concord NH  to eventually make our way to Portland.  Temp was in the upper 80s as we drank a beer on his porch.   We got to Portland to see everybody walking the streets in long pants and jackets/sweatshirts as it was 62 and breezy.  Oops,  good lesson and always taking extra clothes with you.

Never go to the Maine city's, Town's or beaches along the coast unprepared..................lol

The other key difference, the NAM has dewpoints in VT of 77 Saturday, the GFS 67. So that makes a difference of 4500 J/kg or 1000 J/kg.

I would say a split of the difference, leaning towards low 70s dews is a fair forecast and more than enough to generate some strong convection Saturday night.

I see chance probs in the grids for staurday night, Be interesting to see if something gets going if it can stay together to the coast coming out of the NW or we get 7-10'd.

So I've read, though they divebomb my gray-white head just as enthusiastically as they did when my hair was still brown.  They also seem to key on movement, which I discovered by accident while in the woods west of Jackman on a mega-deerfly July day.  My co-worker needed a serious comfort stop and headed into the thicker growth while I waited by a bridge over Turner Brook.  The watercourse as full of little trout and I decided that the deerflies would at least provide some entertainment along with torture.  As I waited, ready to slap, drop, and watch the feeding frenzy, the deerflies left me completely alone.  Their attention returned as we continued our walk back to the truck.  I've since found that standing still causes most deerflies to lose interest - maybe they're like T-Rex as portrayed in Jurassic Park.  (And scaled to their body size, their dental equipment feels like it's similar.)

The ones at the golf course i play at on the back 9 must be pros because they will drive you nuts standing still on the greens, Funny thing is you can take off your hat and place it on the head of the putter and raise it above your head and they will buzz around the hat..........lol

But once it's established (ie- thicker lawn) it would do ok right? I mean, in times of drought, I'd expect some dormancy and drying out, but I'm envisioning this with a much thicker lawn. I say this because our existing, older lawn closer to the house does dry out too with limited rain, but it's quite thick and bounces back. The hard part is getting the thicker lawn to establish. I think I goofed and should have had underground sprinklers in place before we did the hydroseed. Mother nature hasn't delivered much liquid over the past three summers.

Yeah, Your issues is getting it established, Unless this was a real wet spring/summer (Which its not) You would have to irrigate on a regular basis which you said is near impossible to do, Tough task ahead for you i believe.
