That is a pretty damn near textbook evolution of the 500mb pattern and how H5 closes off and where it tracks.

What may bode well too is there isn't a cluster cluck of shortwave mess. There's plenty of shortwave energy around but only a few distinct major pieces.

If you're outside of the far interior and don't have elevation, dynamics are going to be critical but there is plenty of cold air available not far away.

Wet spring promotes fungus growth which in turn kills gypsy moths.

For sure except you just know some other critters will love the heavy rain and demolish some other kind of trees.

Although synoptically that’s a nice look lol:

    * Unsettled Tuesday through Thursday next week with the potential  for a long duration precipitation event and perhaps some elevation  snow !

I was talking to one of my son's teachers today who moved here from San Diego.  She said it feels like it's been raining for two years.

CT river going up up up

Amazing to me that there's not that much flooding. Willing to bet most places in SNE are at or nearing all-time 365 day rainfall totals. I suppose if you spread it out It tempers it somewhat.

Coming up to 1.5” of stupidity.

Blows. Look on the bright side , at least you don't live in Rhode Island. Those folks must be sprouting gills.

Hey now, some people live up here. I even learned how to read so I could post here!

Reading is not essential to membership. As long as you can link colorful maps you're good.

Do they still do the June 1st thing?  I went and did that in college as a one-time bucket list.  Slept in my buddies Isuzu trooper, which was a poor night sleep, but a great truck.

I bought my daughter a trooper for her undergrad days in upstate Vermont. Thing was a tank. Kind of hairy during windy days on the highway.

I'll be up to 10" for the month by this evening. Doesn't come close to the 18+" in Morch 2010 though.

Yeah I saw March 2010 in the records. What the hell went on I don't remember it?
