  1. Back to back to back Sunday mornings with snow is nothing to sneeze at if we can get it. And there’s almost something romantic about the potential for a big Valentine’s Day storm ushering in some freezer air..
  2. Two inches on elevated surfaces in my backyard. And that was before the melting commenced. I imagine this will indeed be totally gone in the next couple of hours. Advisory criteria, but definitely not WSW. And not as much fun with it being extremely wet and kids could not sled. But the visuals during the bands were above anything I've seen in a couple years.
  3. They actually cancelled in-person classes that day at UVA. In March! Trying to walk through that was basically impossible. And I remember how my back felt after shoveling my old sidewalk and drive. Just brutal. Everything was so heavy.
  4. Probably going to miss my bar of having a decent sledding event. Just simply too wet and everything compacting. But the visual is great.
  5. Anyway, rates are not terrible here but the temps are so high, the sun is rising and the snow so wet that it's just not accumulating after hitting about an inch. Just compacting on everything basically now.
  6. Wear something water resistant. It's not particularly cold but you will get wet in this stuff!
  7. Really weirdly, Charlottesville had like 16+ inches for Snowquester (which I think was 2013). 16 inches of the wettest, slushiest snow I've ever seen.
  8. Within minutes of rates backing off, the roads immediately just become wet. Now they are picking back up and some white/gray is filtering back in. Will be interesting to see if the snow can ever win the battle until the storm departs.
  9. I was outside with a t-shirt and a hoodie. Wasn't even particularly cold. Just pouring down clumps of snow. Rates are, indeed, enough if you're lucky. This is all gonna be gone by like, 3pm though.
  10. Grass and parked cars now totally covered but roads just wet. Feels like if rates just nudged a tad higher they would start to cave. Won’t get there without it due to temps.
  11. Just get that band to widen a bit to the NW thank you..
  12. I wish the sun was up just enough or I had a better camera to get a good picture. These flakes are gigantic.
  13. Really looks and feels like a “spring snow” coming down. And with our high supposed to be in the mid 40s.. prolly gonna stick around just as long.
  14. Wasted a lot of QPF earlier this morning with rain... now dumping fatties finally in CHO. Grass already white
  15. Wow that's a crush job and the band of heavy precip is substantially wider
  16. One of our local mets with the pretty obvious call. Now just have that drift a little northwest like we expect.
  17. Sorta now feels like we might have it where we want it since we'd anticipate further northwest movement... Might have to start picking out which hat to eat.
  18. Panel 1 there would let everybody get in on the action..
  19. I would be happy to eat it if it means I got a foot of non-digital snow! Kids are literally on the deck right now enjoying the last remnants of Sunday. Nothing brings a bigger smile to my face.
  20. I never trust "teetering on the edge of sleet." That screams cold rain to me.
  21. I would take a colder but slightly less juicy solution over playing the knife-edge game... which we always lose. Although actually.. there was one win I can recall. December 9-10 2018. That was a tremendous storm for CHO.
