Here at 12:35AM it is already below freezing with a 31.5. So, a hard freeze tonight likely heading down into the middle 20s. I’m pretty sure this is the coldest of the winter so far at this hour.
How cold did you get Wednesday morning?

I think we are grasping at straws now. We missed our opportunity, maybe something could happen in mid February but I'm not putting much faith in it.

I guess I will just have to enjoy the warm weather the rest of winter.

My thermometer recorded a low of 15.4 this morning. Coldest since the single digits Christmas eve 2022.

This isn’t designed to be a pessimistic post but the reality is that outside of the mountains, we’re all going to have to dial back our expectations going forward and we should ignore the Mets who love to throw out lofty analog years every given winter.
The oceans are cooking right now. The Atlantic is breaking all-time records for warmth this time of year and a warm pacific has contributed to an absurdly bad pacific pattern for us not only now but for years. It was challenging to get snow decades ago and it’s a big ask now when our region is constantly torn between mild pacific patterns and a SER that just can’t help itself with the Caribbean temperatures 100 miles off our coastlines.
VA Beach got a 14 inch snowstorm as recent as 2018. It can happen and will happen again but less frequently.

Whatever, another bust of a winter.

Well the clock is running that is for sure. It gets much harder after Valentine's Day. Waiting out the next warmup is going to be rough. Friday still cant be ruled out but it wouldn't be much. The Happy Hour GFS is looking rather paltry.
Agreed, it is looking like another crap winter. Now is our opportunity for something significant and not much.

Light snow around 10-11am. Nothing stuck and changed over to rain. I am surprised it isn't colder considering the arctic outbreak.

Honestly, if you really want snow you need to move north.

Writing is on the wall. All these posts for a 3 day cold snap then back to the drawing board till it “reloads”. Really not sure it can still snow here
I feel the same way but it will snow eventually. It is becoming less common though.

Weather.us has the Euro model runs with the rain/snow lines. FYI.

0z Euro was said , "What storm?"
Watching the Mid Atlantic people lose their shit is worth it!
EURO went from huge I-95 Snowstorm to nothing in one run. That is unusual. We shall see.

I can not predict the future but this looks like an I-95 Snow Storm.

GFS still not close to what we need
Euro is the better long range model. The problem we have is these storms never trend south. This has I-95 snowstorm written all over it.
-
00z Euro is north, rain for the coastal plains for next weeks storm.
-
00z GFS looks to be trending in the right direction for a little snow but we shall see.
