It was a fv3 map 12/26 off other board. Was a western NC clown map showing Christmas snow. Let it show up a few more days and ill be digging em all up and posting/hanging like ornaments on a tree.

Snow pack is hanging tough today. Even the refreeze on the roads from last night is still solid at noon thanks to the thick cloud deck.

Last January we did. Only one we eneded up tracking,but it struck gold over here and salvaged a horrible winter.

As uneventfull as these next 10 to possibly 15 days look on models currently. Best rest up, cause I beleive uts the calm before the storm. And speaking of storm,Ive seen news of 5 seperate roof collapses in NC. One was a church here in the triad. Wghp fox 8. That was an impressive storm we just had.

Mount Mitchell had 34 inches from the storm. Think Boone was 21 officially. Both need to be confirmed. Amazing storm. I could get use to white ground 3 months out of the year.

On to the next one. Looks like starting around Dec 20th give or take a day the pattern will be setting up favorable for more fun n games. I just hope we can dry this ground out some after the melt and next weekends rain. December 10 and its already turning into a all time stellar season. . We want see to many days where we arent tracking threats this season. Even though we will be in zonal flow next weekend, dont be shocked if we are tracking a legit long term threat for the hollidays by then. Thats the way its looking or models are hinting at this morning.

Well Mr Sun is trying to come out here. The plows have virtually made it impossible to get on and off secondary roads. Even without the plows ,snow is so deep youll drag if your not way up off ground. These 12 inch snows are a whole nother animal. Wait till we dip in the teens tonight. So much water in this snow it will freeze solid all the way through tommorow. You can still move it around today even though its wet and heavy. Great Storm. Be ready for the next one after we get back from the bowl game this weekend.

Radar continues to fill in nicely over TN and Georgia. Seeing some breakout over Sw NC near upstate as well.

Yall laugh at the brickster, but he just got double digit snowfall when everyone was telling him to ignore models.

Southeast Winter Storm Threats - Model Performance

One of the best modeled storms from LR on the globals in a while. Was so impressed with new gfs. Put the heavy precip strip right where it ended up from 7 days out along with 5h players. Kept chucking out 1 to 2 foot totals and they verefied. NAM was to far north with transition, warm nose. Time it got to me damage was done 8+, then the sleet frzng rn moved in. -
Yes and the models did a great job. How bout the FV3 from 7 plus days out. Gonna be a fun winter when it starts in 2 weeks lol.

Blowing Rock and Boone are gonna have no trouble going over 20,if they arent already there. Both where sitting at 17 last check and hour ago

Yea its glazing the limbs i noticed. Thankfully when it was ripping snow this morning the wind was strong it cleaned out the trees. But this next little 1 to 3 tonight , the limbs will catch every flake with that glaze on them. And well get freezing drizzle during the lull all evening

This stuff is pure concrete now. Itll be days before it melts. Gonna be nice getting 2 to 3 fresh on top latter tonight.

Heavy sleet. Occasional flake. We got north of 8 before compaction. Heard a tractor trailer went off in neuse river somehwere east of here.Think dive team will have to go get body this week. This storm has been modeled fabously.

Heavy snow, but has the ice sound to it. Notice back edge of steady precip is rrolling into sw NC and upstate. Happy to have kept snow sounding during bulk of this one.
