extreme Intermountain heat July 7th until..?

You guys out west undoubtedly aware of the all-time record breaking heat the past couple weeks in the central and eastern part of the US. Now it's your turn to bake as the center of the upper ridge retrogrades to around SLC over the next several days. Relative to average, highest temps ought to be along and north of 40N. This will easily go down as a top-10 100+ streak for Boise with at least 5 consecutive triple-digit highs and an extreme max around 108. Hard to say if the ridge will stay intact long enough to challenge the 2003 or 2006 longevity benchmarks of 9 consecutive 100+ days for Boise, but I suppose that's a possibility in a pattern that loves to amplify and stick around for a while.

verification: KBOI hit 100 again today for the 5th consecutive day, and reached 108 on Monday.

KBOI highs:

July 7th - 100

July 8th - 101

July 9th - 108

July 10th - 100

July 11th - 100 as of this post

Could have easily busted if there was more smoke or higher dewpoints - was a close one. And that'll be the theme this winter along the east coast - and endless parade of close calls. You heard it here first.
