This event is still too far out there. 0z Euro was a little disheartening for those of us in Southern Hampton Roads, but it is also one of the few models showing a solution that far North.

Disheartening at the start of the storm but what a wraparound on that thing. I know it's tough to count on the wraparound in this area but if it gets that strong we will get something on the back side. Nothing's nailed down though so we are still in the game here.

Whereas usually in this area we would want a weaker system that stays further south, I think with this set-up we may need something like what the 0z Euro (and now the 12z Canadian) are showing to pull enough cold air into this thing. A weaker system may just leave us with a cold rain or, at best, a mix with maybe a little snow at the end.

This has NoVa special written all over it. Anything we get will most likely be token flakes after the height of the storm.

Of course this thing might trend South. Let's see if 12z guidance suggests a South shift.

Not gonna lie, euro looks nice. This thing looks juicy for us at this point regardless of a jog in track. If those 850s continue to trend cooler, I am liking the possibility of the heavier precip bringing us a quick inch or so

We are undoubtedly going to have some qpf to work with down here. So the timing of the changeover could be the difference between a coating and and maybe 2-4in.

If 0z continues with this south trend, a general 1-3 would seem reasonable

The ground will probably be too wet and too warm for the snow to stick well.

That snow we had last week took a lot of heat out of the ground. If it snows hard enough and soon enough of a change over then we could get a little fun. We had that 15 incher in 1989 after a long 6 week period of above normal temps. Ice or snow colds off beer real fast baby. Snow on ground simular. Lets get the air there first.
