My brother texted to say he just measured 5.25” on the ground in Franklin, NJ (Sussex).
He had 1” at 3:30 a.m. when he let the dog out. Rippage.
I wouldn't doubt it. I left my house in Vernon an hour ago and we had 4".

Homenuk on twitter says if the trend continues, there might be significant changes to storm forecast. Even still, we know that north and west trends in the last hours leading up to storms are real, so ideally, we would want this to trend as far south as possible, to counter the north/west trend that we'll probably see tomorrow night.
You forgot to throw in sun angle.

Seems they expect it to bump back north a little tomorrow and the gradient to be around I287 as opposed to the models pulling it down to I80 today. Unfortunately they may be right
That is just Upton map. Do you have Mt. Holly map? Do they jive?

I'm not a forecaster by any means. But I think this storm is the best chance for NYC so far to get over 2" this season. Question is will Central Park measure correctly? Does anyone know who actually does that measurement?

This seems like the kind of thing where you will have to be at the top of the Empire State Building to see a "snow storm" lol
I listened to to Joe and Joe weather show earlier. Joe Rayo did emphasize elevation over 500' for higher snow accumulations.

Not sure if some you Olds recall February 5, 2001, but that was an over performer in my area, which wasn’t yet developed, and we had fight through the snow in muskets and bearskins. One of my faves.
.I do remember that storm. At least you guys down below had muskets and bear skins. We fought through with recurve bows made from swamp maple and battle axes with wooden handles made from ash and flint napped stone blades. We were naked except for raccoon pelts on our feet.
