Ton of electricity with this storm. Wow.

Hopefully we can get some 3'' hour rates for multiple hours today. My hope is one day we can get a harvy and florence and get a couple feet of rain over a couple days.

Do y'all cover Hampton roads?

Why don't people like humidity? I love that swamp feeling and reminds me we do not live in the North. If you don't like it, you are at the wrong latitude on the East coast. Went on a 5 mile hike this afternoon at great falls and it was beautiful!

Ellicott City has to be nervous on a day like today.
The odds of a 1000 year flood 3 years so close together are.... 1/1000. Past events have no influence on odds of a particular event! Haha

LOVE these dews. I'm hoping we get some 80+ later this month.
Did a quick search and what I'd give to be in Savannah right now. 95/75 HI 108.- 1

I thought people were calling bust an hour ago? There's still a bunch we don't understand. They lower tornado probs and then first storm of the day is spinning with potential touchdown...

perhaps some modest supercell structure, but the low level wind profile is meh, and the 88/70 environment would cause it to quickly gust out.
Dare we start saying the D word?

Does it get better than this? Absolutely love this weather. Only thing would be if dews were close to that 75 degree mark but we are on our way!!

The cell which moved from Winchester across northern Montgomery probably produced that. Cloud tops maxed out around 50kft which is a good size for this part of the country. 235k power outages in the DC area but that pales in comparison to the derecho where each county had about 240k in the dark for days.
If only this happened a month from now with higher dew points/temps with full sun from morning on and some extra sun altitude. There's no coincidence the derecho happened in late June. Could argue that's the absolute peak time to maximize a storm around here.

One of the best storms in a while. Wow!

Is there anything worse than north east spring? Not sure how y'all do it. Looking at your 10 day and ours looked like that in March...

Gah y'all would love Louisiana.
We get a storm like that every day for 4-6 months.
You have a beautiful state that's for sure. Do you think y'all will ever move back down there or are you in MD for the long haul?

April 2019 averaged 62.4 degrees at DCA, second all-time in DC to the 63.8 recorded in April 2017. However, precipitation was only 2.24 inches -- the first below normal month at DCA since October 2018.
Two historically warm years out of 3, with last year being historically chilly if I remember correctly? Doesn't seem like DC has "average" months all that often in the spring.

I HATE the warm seasons with a burning passion. Hate the flowers, overgrown everything, bugs, pollen, sunburns, sweating just from going outside. There is literally nothing I look forward to. I like the beach in warm weather, but I don't need our summers to have that. I could go to a Florida beach for vacation during the winter if I wanted to experience it.
Basically, you could wipe out our Spring and Summer and I wouldn't lose one ounce of sleep over it. Don't get me wrong, I love a nice 55 degree sunny day! I just wish that was our max in the warm seasons. That would be beautiful! Does anyone know a place where Summer temps top out between 55-65 degrees on average?
Alaska lol

It can still lay even on roads. 4/9/16 and 3/21/18 both had roads completely cave where I live- and this was in the middle of the day.
You are farther south than me so I appreciate the perspective. Thank you.

I’m sorry. I don’t know you personally. But when you continue to argue that something can’t happen when it actually has happened numerous times including in the very near past it’s too easy. That is a dumb argument.
Fair enough. You have the stats, I don't. I'll concede that. Maybe I'm a micro climate, but I've witnessed stickage issues mid day even with February sun. Naturally I'm skeptical due to my personal experience on the blacktops 'round here IMBY.
